Justice is the objective of law in Islam

Imam Ibn al-Qayyim said,

“Allah Almighty has made clear by many of his laws that the purpose is to establish justice between his servants and for people to behave fairly. Whichever path leads to justice and fairness is part of the religion and does not contradict it.”

Ṭuruq al-Ḥikmīya 1/13

Entire religion is good character, manners

Imam Ibn al-Qayyim, may Allah have mercy on him, said,

“The religion itself is entirely good character, so whoever surpasses you in character has surpassed you in religion. Likewise, it is such with spirituality (al-tasawwuf). Al-Kanani said: Spirituality is itself good character, so whoever surpasses you in character has surpassed you in spirituality.”

And he said, “Good manners itself is the religion in its entirety.”

Islam is based on justice, mercy, wisdom

Imam Ibn al-Qayyim, may Allah have mercy on him, said,

“Verily, the Sharia is founded upon wisdom and welfare for the servants in this life and the afterlife. In its entirety it is justice, mercy, benefit, and wisdom. Every matter which abandons justice for tyranny, mercy for cruelty, benefit for corruption, and wisdom for foolishness is not a part of the Sharia even if it was introduced therein by an interpretation.”

Greeting of peace with non-Muslims

Muhammad ibn Ka’b reported: Umar ibn Abdul Aziz, may Allah have mercy on him, was asked about initiating the greeting of peace to non-Muslim citizens and he said we should respond to their greeting, but we do not greet them first. As for me, I do not see any harm in greeting them with peace first. It was said to him, “Why is that?” Ibn Ka’b said, “Allah Almighty said: Pardon them and say words of peace, for they will soon know.” (43:89)

al-Tamhīd 17/92

Imam Ibn al-Qayyim said, “A groups of scholars said it is permissible to initiate the greeting of peace with non-Muslims if it serves a beneficial purpose or need, or if he fears he will be harmed by them, or if he has family relations with them, or for another reason for which it is required. This was narrated by Ibrahim An-Nakhi’i and ‘Alqamah.”

Cures for every physical, mental, spiritual disease

Abu Huraira reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Allah did not send down any disease but that he also sent down the cure.”

Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 5354

Imam Ibn al-Qayyim said, “This is generally true for diseases of the heart, the spirit, the body, and their cures.”

Sending blessings upon the Prophet ﷺ on Friday

Aws ibn Aws reported:

The Messenger of Allāh, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Verily, the best of your days is Friday. Ādam was created on it, on it he died, on it the trumpet will be blown, and on it the shout will be made. Thus, send blessings upon me often, for your blessings are presented to me.”

They said, “O Messenger of Allāh, how are our blessings presented to you after you have decayed?”

The Prophet said, “Verily, Allāh Almighty has forbidden the earth from consuming the bodies of the prophets.”
