Imām Ibn al-Qayyim said:

“A time when Du’ās will be accepted is during the last hour of ‘Asr on Jumu’ah.”⁣

{زاد المعاد ١/١٠٤}⁣
Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allah have mercy on him) said:

Protective jealousy implies hatred and resentment (of bad deeds), so Allah told us that no one has protective jealousy greater than His, and because of His protective jealousy He prohibited immorality and obscenity. According to those who deny the divine attributes, protective jealousy is regarded as a matter of feelings and emotions, like shyness, joy, anger, wrath, resentment and hate. So in their view, it cannot be attributed to Allah. But it is well-known that these divine attributes are attributes of perfection that are entirely praiseworthy according to reason, religious texts, customs and traditions, and sound human nature; and their opposites are blameworthy according to reason, religious texts, customs and traditions, and sound human nature. If someone has no sense of protective jealousy, then it is all the same to him whether one commits immoral deeds or refrains therefrom; such a person is utterly blameworthy and deserves to be rebuked harshly.

IMPORTANT ACTION POINTS

As-Salāmu ‘Alaykum brothers & sisters,

In light of the insults being directed towards our beloved Prophet Muḥammad ﷺ, and the increase in oppression against the our Muslim brothers/sisters by some of the ignorants in France, here are some action points every Muslim should try to implement:

1. Social Media:
Use your accounts to share posts and raise awareness about what is happening.

2. Speak to influential people:
Advise and encourage them (e.g. your Imām) with the best adab to use their platform to speak about the injustices that are happening.

3. Tell your friends & family:
Make this the topic of discussion in your circles. Explain to those close to you the significance of defending the honour of the Prophet Muḥammad ﷺ.

4. Make Du‘ā’:
Make lots of Du‘ā’ for the oppressed and ostracized Muslims, not only in France, but around the world.

5. Boycott where you can:
We should strive to boycott French goods wherever we are able to apply pressure on them.

6. Spread the ḥadīṭh about the best of creation Muḥammad ﷺ:
Fill your social media pages with narrations that demonstrate the impeccable character and justice of the Messenger of Allāh ﷺ.

7. Implement more Sunan:
Demonstrate your love for the Prophet ﷺ and his Sunnah by implementing more Sunnah acts in your daily life (e.g. fasting, rawātib etc).

O Ummah of Muḥammad ﷺ rise & unite against injustice.

Ibn Al-Qayyim said:

Allah the Exalted has made clear in his law (sharia) that the objective is the establishment of justice between His servants and fairness among the people, so whichever path leads to justice and fairness is part of the religion and can never oppose it.

A void that can only be filled by love of Allah

Imam Ibn al-Qayyim, may Allah have mercy on him, said,

“In the heart are disorders that cannot be remedied except by responding to Allah. In it is a desolate feeling that cannot be removed except by intimacy with Him solitude. In it is sadness which will not leave except by happiness with knowing Him and truthfulness in his dealings. In it is anxiety that is not made tranquil except by gathering for His sake and fleeing to Him from His punishment. In it is a fire of regret which cannot be extinguished except by satisfaction with His commands, prohibitions, and decrees, and embracing patience with that until the time he meets Him. In it is a strong desire that will not cease until He is the only one who is sought. In it is a void that cannot be filled except by His love, turning to Him, always remembering Him, and being sincere to Him. Were a person to be given the entire world and everything in it, that would never fill the void.”

Justice is the objective of law in Islam

Imam Ibn al-Qayyim said,

“Allah Almighty has made clear by many of his laws that the purpose is to establish justice between his servants and for people to behave fairly. Whichever path leads to justice and fairness is part of the religion and does not contradict it.”

Entire religion is good character, manners

Imam Ibn al-Qayyim, may Allah have mercy on him, said,

“The religion itself is entirely good character, so whoever surpasses you in character has surpassed you in religion. Likewise, it is such with spirituality (al-tasawwuf). Al-Kanani said: Spirituality is itself good character, so whoever surpasses you in character has surpassed you in spirituality.”

And he said, “Good manners itself is the religion in its entirety.”

Islam is based on justice, mercy, wisdom

Imam Ibn al-Qayyim, may Allah have mercy on him, said,

“Verily, the Sharia is founded upon wisdom and welfare for the servants in this life and the afterlife. In its entirety it is justice, mercy, benefit, and wisdom. Every matter which abandons justice for tyranny, mercy for cruelty, benefit for corruption, and wisdom for foolishness is not a part of the Sharia even if it was introduced therein by an interpretation.”

Greeting of peace with non-Muslims

Muhammad ibn Ka’b reported: Umar ibn Abdul Aziz, may Allah have mercy on him, was asked about initiating the greeting of peace to non-Muslim citizens and he said we should respond to their greeting, but we do not greet them first. As for me, I do not see any harm in greeting them with peace first. It was said to him, “Why is that?” Ibn Ka’b said, “Allah Almighty said: Pardon them and say words of peace, for they will soon know.” (43:89)

al-Tamhīd 17/92

Imam Ibn al-Qayyim said, “A groups of scholars said it is permissible to initiate the greeting of peace with non-Muslims if it serves a beneficial purpose or need, or if he fears he will be harmed by them, or if he has family relations with them, or for another reason for which it is required. This was narrated by Ibrahim An-Nakhi’i and ‘Alqamah.”

Cures for every physical, mental, spiritual disease

Abu Huraira reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Allah did not send down any disease but that he also sent down the cure.”

Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 5354

Imam Ibn al-Qayyim said, “This is generally true for diseases of the heart, the spirit, the body, and their cures.”
