‎Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said:

“The best life is attained by the blessed through patience, and they rise to the highest degrees through their gratitude. So they fly on the wings of patience and gratitude to gardens of delight (i.e paradise).

That is the bounty of Allāh that he bestows upon whomsoever He will, and Allāh is the owner of great bounty.”

Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said:

‎“You may see a kind, righteous man who has a beautiful attitude, as one of the most beautiful of people in appearance, even if he is not good-looking,

especially if he is blessed with a share of Qiyam al-Layl (the night prayer), for it gives light to the face and makes it handsome.”

[Rawdat al-Muhibbeen | 221-223]
Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said:

‎”When the veil has been lifted on the day of judgement revealing the value of good deeds for the people they'll not see any action better in reward than the remembrance of Allāh (Dhikr).

At that time a group of people who'll sigh because they missed out and say:

There was nothing easier for us than dhikr and yet we did not do it.”

Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله:

[Excellence of Patience & Gratefulness]
Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said:

“If thinking positively of Allāh motivates a person to strive in righteous deeds and it prompts him, helps him and drives him to do such deeds, then it is sound.

“When there is money in your hand but not in your heart, it cannot harm you; even if it is alot, and when it is in your heart, it will harm you even if there is none in your hands.”

[Madārij as-Sālikīn | 1/463]
Ibn al-Qayyim said:

Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said:

"And Allāh has decreed a decree that cannot be repelled or rebutted;

• The one who loves a matter besides Allāh will be punished by way of it (i.e. love of worship).

• The one who fears other than Him will have that thing overcome him.

• The one who is preoccupied by an affair away from Allāh will have it become a calamity upon him.

• Whomsoever gives precedence to other than Allāh will not be blessed in it.

• Whomsoever pleases other than Him, at the expense of angering Allāh, Allāh will cause them to become discontent with him, and that is guaranteed."

[al-Waabil al-Sayyib]
Ibn al-Qayyim ‏رحمه الله:

“Man consists of the mind of an angel, the lust of an animal, and the fancy of Satan. One of them will prevail.

If you could overcome your fancy and lust, you will be in a rank that is higher than an angel.

And if your fancy and lust beat you, you will be in a rank that is less than a dog.”

[al-Fawā’id | Pg.1 21]
Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله on the station of contentment (ridaa):

“This is why contentment is one of the greatest gateways to Allāh. It is the paradise of the world, a repose for the gnostics, a life for the lovers, a delight for the worshipers, and a coolness of the eye to the yearners.”

[Madārij as-Sālikīn | 2/132]
Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله:

"When Allāh granted Prophet Yusuf physical beauty, it caused him to be locked in the prison but when Allāh granted him knowledge (when he interpreted the dream of the King) it not only took him out of prison, but elevated his rank in society, clearly showing us the virtue of knowledge and that physical beauty does not mean anything."

[Al-'llm wa Fadhluhu wa Sharafuhu | Pg. 32]
