Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said:

“Be on the side with Allah and His Messenger even if all of mankind is on the other side.”

[al-Fawa'id pg 167]
Ibn al-Qayyim:

“Friday is the day when the people of Paradise will receive the ever-increasing reward. It is the day when they will see Allah, the Exalted. Those who were the earliest to go to the mosque on Friday will be the first to receive this honor. Thus, the nearest to Allah were those nearest to the Imam on Friday. The residents of Paradise are eager for Friday, the day of such increase, due to the honor they will receive on that day.”

The eyes is the mirror of the heart…

al-Imām Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said:

❞العين مرآة القلب، فإذا غض العبد بصره غض القلب شهوته وإرادته، وإذا أطلق بصره أطلق القلب شهوته.❝

❝The eye is the mirror of the heart, so if the slave lowers his gaze, the heart will lower its desires and whims, and if he lets his gaze wander, the desire in his heart will be released.❞

Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said:

“Zina is a great evil which can destroy society. It is contrary to the benefit of the global values of preserving lineage, protecting chastity and the sanctity of individuals. It spreads animosity and enmity among people, as committing zina affects other people's wives, mothers, sisters and daughters. It causes destruction to human society, and therefore comes after the evil of killing in terms of the grade of its evil.”

Ibn Qayyim رحمه الله said:

“And from the things that bring about an expansive feeling in [one’s] chest is persistent remembrance of Him in all circumstances and in all places.”

“It is obligatory to tell the truth even if it is hard upon you.”

Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said:

“Live your life with this principle: be good even if you don’t receive good, not because for other’s sake but because Allah loves those who do good.”

Ibn Al Qayyim رحمه الله said:

"No one remembers Allah during difficulty except that Allah makes it easy for him.

Nor during a time of hardship except that Allah gives him ease,

Nor during a hard time except that He lightens it for him.”

Ibn al-qayyim رحمه الله said:

“Too much socializing,

wishing for things,

attachment to others besides Allāh,

filling one’s stomach,

and sleep:

these five affairs are amongst the greatest corrupters of the heart.”

Ibn al-Qayyim:

“The death of the heart is caused by the lack of reckoning oneself and following ones desire.”

“Allah does not forget the good you do, nor does He forget the good you did to others and the pain you relieved them from. Nor will He forget the eye which was about to cry but you made it laugh.”

Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said:

“All hard work is easy for those who believe in Allāh, when they know that Allāh
hears them."

Ibn al-Qayyim said:

“It is from the guidance of the Prophet to offer a sujood of thanks to Allaah whenever a blessing is granted or a trial and affliction is lifted.”

Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله:

“...when blessed, give thanks; when tried, persevere; and when sinful, seek forgiveness. For these three conditions are tokens of the servant’s happiness...”

Ibn al-Qayyim:

“If the human knew the pleasure of meeting Allāh and being near Him, he would feel grief for being distant from Him.”

Ibn al-Qayyim [رحمه الله] said:

❝Allaah loves from His slave that he beautifies his tongue with the truth, and his heart with Ikhlaas and love, turning repentantly and reliance upon Allaah.❞

Ibn al-Qayyim:

“Whoever has offended you and then apologised, humility obligates that you accept his apology whether it is truthful or not, and that you leave his secret thoughts to Allāh.

The sign of generosity and humility is that if you notice a defect in his apology, you do not address it nor hold him against it.


[Madaarij as-Salikeen (Ranks of the Wayfarer) | 2/338]
Ibn al-Qayyim:

“The outside of the grave is just earth, but inside it is regret and torment.”

Ibn al-Qayyim:

“The one who gives evil eye is a particular jealous person and such an envier is more harmful than a common envier, and the basis of jealousy is to hate the blessing of Allāh upon someone and wish for it to cease.”

Imām Ibn al-Qayyim رحمه الله said:

“The Qur’an revives the heart the way water gives life to the Earth.”

“If there was in your heart love (for Allāh) it’s effects would be visible upon your body (in your actions).”
