Today is Monday, 17th of February , a group of workers from the Port and Petrochemical Storage Company in Mahshahr have gathered for the second consecutive day in protest against the failure to meet their demands.
These workers say: We have been pursuing the collection of our overdue and legal claims for years, but despite the promises made by the managers, nothing has been implemented so far.
The workers of this company state that the most important demands of us workers are the conversion of workers' status (in accordance with neighbouring companies), the implementation of the resolutions of the company's general assembly, and the payment of overtime for personnel, while also noting that productivity bonuses and holiday rights and customary and festive benefits are not being paid.

According to him, apart from the basic salary, the validity of the social security treatment services of Borujerd textile workers has ended due to the non-payment of insurance premiums by the employer for several months, and now colleagues who need to receive medical services themselves and their families are facing problems. The worker added: "Another part of our protests is due to the lack of job security in the factory. According to him, the increasing prices of consumer goods, the increase in rents, the arrears of bank installments, etc. have put pressure on workers who have wives and children. The statement emphasises that languages have intrinsic value and that preserving them is essential for sustainable relationships and the meaningful growth of individuals. However, over the past hundred years, monopolistic and repressive policies have marginalised non-Persian languages in Iran, and Persian continues to dominate as the official language in administrations and media. The Kurdish Teachers' Trade Association, citing the principles of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and Article 15 of the Constitution, defends the right to education in the mother tongue and considers the continuation of a monolingual educational policy to be undemocratic and unjust.

Continued Crackdown on Teachers: #Abolfazl_Khuran Imprisonment in Arak Prison
According to the latest reports, Abolfazl Khuran, a teacher in Arak, has been detained in Arak Central Prison since 22 January 2025. He was sentenced to three years and one day in prison on charges of "blasphemy" for holding a ceremony on the day of Tasu'a ( a religious ceremony) at the grave of Mehrshad Shahidi, one of the victims of the "women Life, Freedom" uprising.
The case involved 10 defendants, and the sentences of nine others were converted to electronic shackles, but Abolfazl Khuran is being held alongside prisoners for financial crimes and robbery etc .In addition, with the decision of the Violations Board, he was also sentenced to one year of dismissal from service, which will continue until June 2025.
The Coordinating Council of Iranian Teachers' Trade Unions considers the systematic repression of teachers and trade union activists as a clear attempt to silence the voice of freedom and justice. The Council calls for the immediate release of Abolfazl Khuran and all imprisoned teachers and trade union activists, and calls on human rights and trade union organisations to protest against this blatant oppression.

After several months of continuous efforts and activity, the Teachers' Guild succeeded in holding elections between the new members of the board of directors and the inspectors of the association by holding a general assembly in cyberspace and with the presence of trade union activists in Fars province.
This assembly was held for two consecutive days, in 48 hours, on February 12 and 13, 2025. Under the supervision of five union activists under the name of the board of directors, it was able to add 6 main members and 4 alternate members to the board of directors and inspectors of the Fars Teachers' Guild.
