How to Disable USB Ports to Prevent Malware Infection
Malware can arrive via connected USB devices on your π». If you use your π» in shared spaces (cafes, libraries, or even offices), you should disable the computer's USB ports π. This will keep your system safe from malware and stop your data from being stolen.
βοΈ Open Device Manager. For that: press and hold Windows + R keys to open the Run dialogue box. Type
βοΈExpand the Universal Serial Bus Controllers list.
βοΈRight-click the USB port and select Disable device.
If youβre sure a USB doesnβt have any viruses or malware, go through the above steps and select Enable to connect it without any problems.
