Hello everyoneโค๏ธ
Today we have one of the most important holidays in the history of Russia - Victory Day
This year we celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory and honor our veteran heroes! ๐ธ
On this holiday large military parades are held in the majority of Russian cities and even in other countries, but the largest one will be on Red Square in Moscow๐
๐งพ Some historical facts for you:
๐ฃ The first Victory Day Parade on the Red Square took place on June 24, 1945
๐ฃ May 9 was chosen because it is on this day in 1945 that the act of unconditional surrender of Germany was signed
๐ฃ In subsequent years, parades on the Red Square were held in the USSR in 1965, 1985 and 1990
๐ฃ In Russia a full-scale Victory Day military parade was held in 1995 and since then parades became annual according to law
๐ฃ Since 2012, the Immortal Regiment march has become an important part of the celebration. It involves people carrying the portraits of their relatives who participated in the war and took part in the wartime labor effort
Russians greatly appreciate this holiday and celebrate it "with tears in our eyes," because we remember not only the joy of victory, but also honor the memory of our heroes who did not return home!
This year the parade will be unique as Chinese and Belorussian soldiers will participate ๐ซก
Exhibitions, concerts, movie screenings and much more will be held today, so donโt miss out!โจ

Let's explore some funny weather beliefs from around the world:
1. The Whistling Wind and the Mischievous Leprechauns (๐ฎ๐ช): In Irish folklore, a whistling wind isn't just a breezy sound โ it's a mischievous leprechaun playing his pipes! These tiny folk are the guardians of hidden treasure.
2. The Angry Gods and the Upside-Down Umbrella (๐จ๐ณ): In some parts of China, opening an umbrella indoors is considered bad luck. The belief is that it angers the gods who control the weather, inviting misfortune like rain or even worse.
3. The Grumpy Groundhog and the Shadow Show (๐บ๐ธ): Groundhog Day in the US is practically a national holiday centered around the weather. The premise is that if a groundhog emerging from its burrow sees its shadow, six more weeks of winter are in store.

๐ฆ๐ฒ Vardavar (Armenia) - July (14 weeks after Easter)
A day of immense joy where everyone, young and old, douses each other with water! Vardavar has ancient pagan roots, later associated with the Transfiguration of Christ.
๐ฒ๐ฒ Thingyan (Myanmar) - Mid-April
Similar to Songkran, Thingyan is Myanmar's New Year Water Festival. Water is thrown to cleanse sins and bad deeds from the previous year.
