20:37 At 4pm today, pan-democratic legislators and the newly elected pan-democratic district councillors and went to Polytechnic University to ask the police to stop sealing off the campus and to try to facilitate those inside to safely leave the campus. Police negotiators, secondary school principals, religious figures, and social workers etc have also been entering the campus.

Currently there are upwards of thousands of protesters and concerned citizens in the Hung Hom area near PolyU to show their solidarity. Despite some reports from people who have entered campus and claimed only very few people are left inside, the crowd outside continues to passionately express their support, waving flags and signs, shining their mobile phones’ flashlights up at the school, and chanting “Hang in there!”

The usual anti-police slogans directed at police nearby can also be heard, despite warnings to keep conflict to a minimum. Police interference has been minimal so far.

Hong Kong Government decides to withdraw the funding to the medical school of Hong Kong University and Chinese University Hong Kong.
Granny Wong arrested in Shenzhen.
Security Bureau: Will not comment on the individual case. HKSAR should not interfere with the Mainland law enforcement's operation.

"Granny Wong" (Wong Fung Yiu), who had been seen actively waving the British flag at the scene of the protest, has been missing since she was arrested at the Taikoo MTR station on August 11 this year. Stand News received a message from Granny Wong, saying that she has been on bail pending her trial in Shenzhen. She hinted that she was held in custody in the detention centre. Today (Nov 26), the Security Bureau responded to the enquiry from Stand News and refused to comment on whether the Bureau had received any notification of the arrest of any Hong Kong people from the Mainland authority. The Bureau stressed that under the principle of "one country two system", "the HKSAR Government will not and should not interfere with the Mainland law enforcement operation."

Statement by the Hong Kong Polytechnic University
https://www.polyu.edu.hk/web/en/media/media_releases/index_id_6717.html
"PolyU resumed its search for the remaining people on campus at 9:30am this morning, following yesterday's endeavours. Manpower for the teams has been enhanced to 100, from about 50 yesterday, and comprises Vice Presidents, Faculty Deans, teachers, counsellors, healthcare professionals and social workers. Working in nine teams, they searched for remaining people and inspected the condition of and damage to various offices and laboratory facilities. Despite their greatest efforts in searching every floor and every room of all buildings, the teams cannot find any people remaining this morning. The search ended at noon today.
Inspection onsite revealed that a great number of facilities on campus, including many laboratories, have been vandalised to various extents, and that some chemicals and dangerous goods are missing. A number of research projects will have to be halted, which will seriously affect the teaching and research of the University.
Over the past two days, the University has done all it can to ensure that anyone remaining on campus could leave peacefully. The University requests the Police to remove the cordon around our campus immediately, so that we can start our restoration work at once.
The University gratefully thanks all colleagues and collaborating partners who have participated in the search on campus. The University appeals to anyone who may still be remaining on campus, or their relatives or friends, to contact our team directly by calling 55136392."
