四名嚟自美國維珍尼亞理工學院暨州立大學嘅學生，透過佢哋設計嘅口罩、喺傑出工業設計獎學生設計項目中贏得銅獎。
研發團隊將呢款口罩命名為Temporary Eye and Respiratory Mask、簡稱T.E.A.R，可以摺疊收藏、方便攜帶，並且能夠抵擋催淚彈15分鐘。佢哋表示，口罩概念源於上年反送中運動當中、無懼催淚彈嘅香港抗爭者。希望透過呢個口罩、引起大眾對濫用催淚彈嘅關注，捍衛言論自由、以及公民應有抗議嘅權利。
上年反送中運動期間，警方曾經發射超過16000枚催淚彈，彭博社曾經引述警方數字、指88%港人曾經曝露喺催淚氣體之下。雖然催淚彈暫別街頭，但香港人遊行集會示威權利，都被政府以防疫為由抗絕。縱使當局壓得住抗議行動，但世界都會記得無畏無懼嘅香港人。
