Job postings for college graduates just dropped 16%.

Applications per opening jumped 26%.

Do the math on that for a second.

More people competing. Fewer jobs available. And the jobs that do exist are going to people who already have experience — making it nearly impossible to get the experience in the first place.

The class of 2026 is booing their commencement speakers for mentioning AI.

They're not wrong to be angry.

They did everything right. Stayed in school. Got the grades. Earned the credential. Followed the exact path poor dad said would lead to security.

And the system moved the finish line.

I've been warning about this since 1997. The school system was never designed to make you wealthy.

It was designed to produce good employees for a system that needed them.

That system no longer needs as many of them.

Here's what they didn't teach in any classroom...

The Credential Trap works like this:

You spend 4 years and $120,000 earning a piece of paper that qualifies you to compete for a job that AI is already doing better and cheaper.

The credential doesn't make you an owner. It makes you a more expensive applicant — for a shrinking pool of positions.

Poor dad believed in credentials. Rich dad believed in assets.

Those are not two versions of the same strategy.

They are two completely different financial destinies.

Here's what the financially educated already know 👇

While graduates compete for entry-level jobs that are disappearing, a different group of people are doing something else entirely.

They're building software assets. Apps generating $1,000... $3,000... $5,000 a month in recurring subscription income.

No degree required. No credential required. No experience required.

Just a problem worth solving and a willingness to follow a system.

The entry-level job was never the goal. It was a rung on a ladder built by people who needed your labor more than your freedom.

The asset doesn't care about your GPA.

It only cares whether it generates cash flow.

My friends Stefan Ciancio and Jonathan Montoya have put together a free 3-day summit that shows you exactly how to do this — available now, but not for long.

Day 1 you find your problem. Day 1 you build your first app concept. Day 1 the Credential Trap loses its grip.

The shift already started. The question is whether you're building the asset — or still competing for the credential.
