Riot police Go into Stores and intercept shoppers on Nathan Road

Riot police blocked off several sections of Nathan Road forcing citizens into inner streets walking towards Mong Kok. At around 3pm, riot police raised blue flag and intercepted passers-by, including shoppers.

Earlier at around 16:40 on Dundas Street, police dispersed citizens and reporters outside a building, claiming that they had caused disturbances to businesses. However, some shopowners also closed their stores as police arrived.

Police Call Out a Man to be Searched at Street Corner

A man was called out by the police from a crowd to be searched individually.
Such a move aroused attention from the citizens nearby, who approached the citizen for information. They were ordered to stand back as the policemen claimed that “When you stand farther away, you can take photos with a wider angle, and you can capture the truth of the event.”

While a group of policemen were putting up orange plastic tapes to signal a cordon from the man who was being searched, a quarrel could be heard between the man the policemen surrounding them, as the man was furious with his private parts being unnecessarily touched by the police officers.

Police Separate a Shopping Family, Child Traumatized Seeing his Father Being Taken
Away

The police separated a family of three on a Sunday when setting up a cordon at Dundas Street.

The father was taken away by the police. The son was traumatized and cried by holding his mother.

The mother told a journalist that they went to buy fruits at the wholesale fruit market in Yau Mai Tei. After parking their car, they went to Mong Kok to buy beverage.

The police set up a cordon line suddenly. Police caught her husband in the cordon and brought him to a police station.

Earlier on, news broke out on the internet saying that a group of female citizens in white gathered at Long Ping in Yuen Long.

Although uniformed police officers arrived at the scene, they did not attempt to engage, but allowed them to continue disturbing public accord.

One of them allegedly chased after and assulted a youngster on the scene. However, police officers were not actively intervening until they were being repeatedly urged and reminded by other civilians to take action.

The man was suspected of assaulting another civilian. While members of a community group attempted to take photo of him as record, they were stopped by police officers on the scene.

However, many citizens in white were seen taking photos with their phones or cameras of reporters and members of the community group, calling them “fake reporters”. No police officer on the scene was seen attempting to intervene.

Police Arrests At Least 53 Civilians, First Aiders and District Councilors in Mongkok

On June 28, netizens called for a silent protest where no slogans would be chanted and no assembly would be made. This, nevertheless, triggered the police massive crackdown, cordoning Nathan Road, congesting traffic and entrapping civilians.

At one point, police fired pepperspay without warning and injured passersby, elderly and reporters.

The heavy police presence has caused terror on the street of Hong Kong. A family of three, going shopping, was separated as the father was taken away.

At around 18:06 in Mongkok, many arrestees were waiting to be escorted. Among them, there are middle aged civilians and first-aider-like civilians wearing reflective vest.

According to Stand News, police has arrested at least 53 people including first aiders, district councilors Lam Siu-bun and Tsui Tsz-kin.

Attacks on street counters of Pro-Democracy Candidate

In this video, a cameraman from the film crew of Wong Ji-yuet, a pro-democracy Legislative Council candidate, was shooting videos at that moment, when a white-clad gang member seized him, elbowed and grappled him violently. In the mean time, another citizen journalist was attacked, who was later brought to the police station to take a statement. The man eventually left.
The film crew decided not to report to the police, fearing the police will not be impartial.
