7 additional items in Security Law Draft as China tightens its grip; chief executive ordered to "develop national security education"

After Beijing passed plans to impose Hong Kong’s version of the "National Security Law", China state media Xinhua News Agency published some of the bill’s content. The bill contains an introduction and body of the motion. Although the law will be imposed in Hong Kong, the exact content was never known to the population.

According to sources, under "actions that endanger national security”, the bill now says “actions and activities”. Meanwhile, "promote the development of national security education", an item proposed by the HK Chief Executive, has been changed to "develop national security education".

Tanya Chan, convener of the pro-democracy parties, said that the legislation has officially put the final nail to the coffin to one country, two systems: "Hong Kong is officially operating as one country, one system".
