Student groups “shocked” by Sheffield SU International Students’ Officer’s pro-China posts
(12 Feb) Taiwanese and Hong Kong students were left feeling “shocked”, “angry”, and “disappointed” after a series of posts made by the SU International Students’ Officer (ISO), Sissi Li over the Chinese social media platform WeChat.
Sisi Li encouraged Chinese nationals to ‘actively report’ forms that list Taiwan, China and Hong Kong as separate nationality options, adding that: ‘I hope you could contact me when you find such a low-level mistake and need any help. We can help him/her correct it together.’ Hong Kong and Taiwanese student representatives have been alarmed by the posts, alleging that the ISO was encouraging the University to adopt the ‘one China’ principle in registration forms.
Separately, Forge Press was shown an article published on the messaging platform Weixin aimed at exposing the identities of Hong Kong students involved in the city centre clash a couple of days before hand. The article praised the attempts of mainland Chinese students and encouraged them to share the ‘exposure material’ among the rest of Sheffield’s Chinese community. Taiwanese and Hong Kong student communities believe that the posts have compromised their safety on campus and in the city as a whole.

Editor's Note: Chou Tzuyu was accused of supporting Taiwanese independence for waving a Taiwanese flag in 2016 and was forced to apologise to continue working in the entertainment industry. The Chinese are beyond the imagination of the world
"Since a large number of suddenly-rich Chinese flooded into Hong Kong, everything changed. After the United States shifted its containment policy to engagement, the United States had great expectations for China. They all believed that as long as a country gets rich, there would be enough middle class. Then, the country would inevitably move towards democracy, and the system will change. Well, Of course, now you can see that, this is not the case. Haha. Because some things are out of expectation. For example, after the Chinese got rich, they were not improving and became engaged in the system of their country to protect their private property and family, but moved members and assets abroad. I don’t think this would be something that the people in the government and the successful people in any other country would do. Transferring assets abroad, and continuing to maintain slavery and autocratic system in their home country to exploit the others. This is beyond the expectation of Westerners."

Taiwan’s three keys to success
Taiwan’s epidemic and hygiene prevention awareness today comes from:
1. The original intention of the colony
2. During a hundred years time dealing with the political party from “the opposite bank”, they have multiple experiences of being fooled
3. Not being involved in WHO the priate ship, and hence no need to take WHO’s lies
As a result, Taiwan’s prevention measures against Wuhan Pneumonia are unique. Of course, a part of it was luck: If the Chinese Nationalist Party was previously elected, the number of Wuhan Pneumonia confirmed cases would be 10 times the number today. Actually, it couldn’t really be considered as luck, it’s the vision and common sense of Taiwanese voters: They treasure lives more than money.

Many netizens on behalf of Taiwanese apologized to Tedros
Taiwanese Investigation Bureau found Chinese Netizens did it
(11 Apr) Tedros, director of WHO, said before that he had been subjected to racist comments and death threats for months. His speech caused a lot of controversy. Then, many messages on behalf of Taiwanese apologizing to Tedrso appeared quickly. After Taiwan Investigation Bureau started an investigation, it was found that it may be done by Chinese Netizens.
Ministry of Justice Investigation Bureau (MJIB) held a press conference lately and published an investigation report showing that many posts in twitter about “I am Taiwanese, I am ashamed of the racial discrimination and maliciously attacks to Tedros by Taiwanese. On behalf of Taiwanese, I would like to apology to Tedros and black population. I beg for his pardon.” A large amount of similar messages were found, therefore MJIB believed it was manipulated by foreign forces, and decided to investigate and find out the source.
They found a Twitter account of a broadcast website was the first one to leave message related to apologize for different European and American media. After that, a Chinese radio twitter account copied that message as an apology template, and even provided photo of Taiwanese IDs to urge other twitter users to use them to pretend as Taiwanese and publish apology tweets. Other netizens found it was interesting. MJIB has already found nearly 100 similar posts, and they would continue to investigate this incident, and urged people to be cautious to identify fake news on the Internet.

Taiwanese singer Teresa Tang - I want freedom
(9 May) 8 May 2020 was the 25th Anniversary of the death of the Taiwanese singer Teresa Tang. The Japanese broadcaster TBS aired a special documentary on Tang’s life, named “Terasa Hot Songs - Reality after 25 years of her death”.
In the latter half of the program, it showed Teresa’s aspirations of democracy, mentioning a quote from a Japanese TV show she was on. She said, “I want freedom, everyone deserves to be free and it is very sad that freedom is being threatened.”
Later, the show played her song “the sorrows of freedom” (悲哀的自由) and ended with scenes of the anti-government protests in Hong Kong. The voice-over concluded the Show with: “how would Teresa think of the current situation of Hong Kong?”
It is understood that the Show producer 落合芳行 (@ochy) lived in Hong Kong when the anti-government protests began last year, at that time he couldn’t stop to think of Teresa, who loved Hong Kong as it was before.
落合芳行 said: “According to her life, and all the happenings during these 25 years after her death, how could we interpret when we listen to her songs. The audience would watch the show and think about it.

Assembly in New York on Oct 1, Urging Countries to Establish Multilateral Alliance to Hold the CCP Accountable
Over 200 non-governmental organisations (NGO) jointly initiated a rally named "Resist China: A Global Day of Action" in more than 60 cities around the world on October 1, "celebrating" the China National day. Participants include Uyghurs, Tibetans, Hongkongers, Taiwanese, Southern-Mongolians, and even Chinese. Dorjee Tseten, the General Director of Student for a Free Tibet, one of the organisations initiating the event, said that people around the world should stand together to fight against the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). The purpose of the event was to urge the European Union (EU) and other governments establishing a multilateral alliance, to hold the CCP accountable with tougher policies. "Xi-Jinping's policies are speeding up the end of the regime. The fall of the CCP is near", he believed.
Dorjee said, "Western democratic countries made China becoming a beast it is today. We have to clear about this, that CCP is a threat to global security.” He pointed out that in the past, western countries only focused on benefit, neglecting all China inhumane tyranny in Xinjiang and Tibet. "Have they (western countries) awaken yet? Yes, they have. But do we satisfy? No, we do not. We need stronger action."
He thinks governments from all over the world should implement policies for the accountability of "business which make benefits from people who suffer”, and organisations in civil societies should reveal these issues to their governments as well as the people. He gave an example that Apple Inc. had been blocking virtual private network (VPN) functions for the Chinese government and removing mobile application used by Hong Kong protesters from its shelves, before it launched its first human rights policy in September after prolonged lobbying by civil society groups. He argued that consumers should also raise their awareness, "when everyone buy Chinese products with a low-price in the western countries, they have to know where these products come from, often from oppressive regimes such as in Tibet.

Hongkongers and Taiwanese, don't be numbed to the darkness
"To destroy a big city, you do not need a natural disaster. A human catastrophe can do too and it does not need to be a war. Just a few words or benighted moves by a few are more than enough to kill a big city".

When more and more people are leaving, it approaches its death even more quickly" Chasing the Dragon by Ni Kuang, a famous Hong Kong novelist.

#China's ambassador to #France says #Taiwanese will be 'reeducated' after annexation
//China's Ambassador to France Lu Shaye (盧沙野) on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 claimed that Beijing would impose reeducation after it annexes Taiwan, drawing international criticism, including denouncements by Uyghur activists.
During an interview with French station #BFMTV to discuss U.S. House Speaker #NancyPelosi's visit to Taiwan, Lu described her trip as an “unnecessary provocation” that had “created a lot of danger." He claimed that China's live-fire drills were "responding to a provocation" — alluding to Pelosi's trip to Taiwan.
Referring to Taiwanese aversion to Chinese annexation, Lu said: “Ten years ago, 20 years ago, the majority of the population of Taiwan was for reunification, but why, now, are they against it? It’s because the Democratic Progressive Party has spread a lot of anti-Chinese propaganda."
However, according to the Election Study Center at National Chengchi University, there has never been a majority of Taiwanese who supported unification since polls began on the question in 1994.
Lu then said the possibility of a military invasion of Taiwan "is still there" but added the assault would "not be against the population of Taiwan." He then vowed that "after reunification, we will do reeducation."
The ambassador said the reeducation campaign would be peaceful and "not under threat." He then tried to reassure Taiwanese that it would not take the form of "mass" education.//
