To Wear Mask or Not to Wear Mask is a Question

I just chat to my friend (French) that he is still telling me whether to wear a mask. He thinks that the sick person needs to wear it.

Je lui ai dit que les masques servent aussi à ceux qui sont en bonne santé pour se protéger par précaution. Ensuite il m’a répondu que l’on ne doit pas s’inquiéter puisque chez les jeunes c’est juste comme la grippe.
Moi: tu mets la capote quand tu fais l’amour?
Lui: Oui !
Moi: t’as des MSTs ou le SIDA?
Lui: non mais pourquoi ?

(27 Mar) Since the CDC provides no scientific evidence for its statement that masks worn by the public “are not effective”, though surgical masks offer far less protection than the N95 respirator masks. Yet, here we review the scientific support for protection conferred by surgical masks.
Physically, if we are soon to yield to the pressure to loosen lockdowns and allow limited social interactions to revive the economy, then public masks should have a role and could facilitate a middle-of-the-road approach.
On the other hand, wearing surgical mask can prevent sprayed droplets from getting into respiratory tract and thus reducing thr chance of being infected. Intuition suggests that even an imperfect mask may offer some protection that is at least within the range of the recommended separation.
Biologically, transmission of the virus will occur largely via spray droplets, precisely where the molecular locks for the virus are present, allowing viral attachment and entry into the host cells. Obviously, this route of transmission could be effectively blocked by simple physical barrier. Which means avoiding spray droplets to enter into the lungs and land in the upper respiratory tracts could be the most effective mean to prevent infection.
To conclude, wearing surgical masks may offer more protection than it is portrayed by governmental official recommendation in general.
