"In the beginning, I wanted to help the elderly. Now we help the young people as an extra," Roy said.
As the owner of Agape Restaurant in Ngau Tau Kok, Roy recounted that his original aim was to provide the elderly in nursing homes with catered meals and to channel 15% of their earnings to help the elderly.
Since the pro-democracy protests started last year, Roy saw many young people struggling in difficulties. He decided to lend a helping hand. "Nothing to eat? Alright! I'll set up meal tickets; Abandoned by your family? I hear you! Come work with us."
At the moment, Roy has employed over 40 staff in the resraurant and has a plan to open a second diner in a different districts. Roy hired not only protesters, but also government supporters so that they can get to know more about different opinion.

In a reply to Legislative Council member Regina Ip, chairperson of the New People Party, about the legislation schedule of the Sex Discrimination Ordinance (#SDO), the Equal Opportunities Commission (#EOC) chairperson Chu Man-kin said that there was no timetable for the ordinance at the moment and should not have a rigid one.
But he said that an internal study has reached a consensus on some of the issues.
However, another legislator Junius Ho Kwan-yiu said that legalising homosexual marriage is a matter of right and wrong, and will directly destroy the composition of society and families.
He claims that the dissemination of undesirable ideologies like this was prohibited under Article 23 of the National Security Law of the People's Republic of China.

In an online radio programme on May 16, Cardinal Joseph Zen spoke to youngsters in Hong Kong and shared his personal experience.
Zen encouraged young people to become good men with integrity and to learn to tell right from wrong.
"The world is chaotic and cold. It is not worthwhile to chase only after wealth and power," he said.
Zen pointed out that young people need guidance and education. He added that man is different from animals. They need a longer time to grow into maturity.
Zen further says that nowadays, people have so much more to learn that they have forgotten to learn to become a man.
Some of them want to be a doctor, a lawyer, or a big boss. But, no matter how long they are going to live, they have to learn to become a man, which is fair and compassionate.
Zen said, “young people have to think independently. Do not listen passively to what you have been told."
Cardinal Joseph Zen, 90, was one of the four arrested by Hong Kong National Security Police on May 11 for alleged “collusion with foreign forces”.
All of those arrested were trustees of the 612 Humanitarian Relief Fund, which provided legal and financial assistance to more than 2,200 people prosecuted for their part in the 2019 pro-democracy protests.
The fund had ceased operations in 2021 after the police announced it was under investigation and requested administrators to provide details on its donors.

Lee Ming-che urges Hongkongers to fight for their freedom
A human rights activist, a community college administrator, and a former member of Taiwanese political parties including the Democratic Progressive Party (#DPP), Lee Ming-che was arrested by the Chinese government after he entered China via Macau on March 19, 2017.
Lee was sentenced to five years in prison for allegedly subverting state power. He was released on April 14 after finishing his prison sentence and returned to Taiwan the next day.
In Lee's interview with the Chaser News, he praised the wisdom of the pro-democratic frontline protesters in their fight against police brutality, which moves everyone on the scene.
This was the first time that Lee talked about the Anti-Extradition Bill movement in Hong Kong.
In his view, the movement showed collaboration between the sensible peace-loving protesters and those courageous frontline activists. During the time, he also saw solidarity inside and outside the Legislative Council. He was deeply impressed.
Walking out from political prosecution in China and regaining freedom, Lee is thankful to those who supported him both domestically and Internationally.
Lee stressed that he will carry on his work defending human rights and prisoners' rights.
Lee is hoping that his experience could help reveal the despicable acts of the Chinese Communist Party. He wanted to become one of the defenders of democracy globally.

Hong Kong Judiciary updates “Guide to Judicial Conduct” to Restrain Judges' Social Media Activities
On May 16, 2022,the Judiciary of Hong Kong updated the “Guide to Judicial Conduct” since 14 years. The new guidelines targets judges and judicial officers and added suggestion of their social media activities.
For example, judges and judicial officers are asked to be extra cautious on “adding friends”, “liking posts” and “following” anyone or any organization. At the same time, they should ensure that thet themselves and their friends and family would not unnecessarily reveal their contact details and private life information, to avoid being “doxxed”.
The Guide also has regulations on how judges and nudicial officers shall behave in interviews and warned them of making comments to the media, even when it is anonymous.
Since the implementation of the #NationalSecurityLaw (#NSL), foreign media has interviewed a few Hong Kong judges who stayed anonynous and showed their concerns about unfair court decision. The new regulations also mention that the media’s enquiry should be referred to the court and will be sent to Press and Public Relations Section for follow-up.
