The Second Day of Rally Held By Kowloon Bay Residents, Against the Government's Passive Measures in Coronavirus Outbreak

In respond to the government’s decision to convert a general out-patient clinic near Richland Gardens to a designated clinic for Chinese Pneumonia, residents in Kowloon Bay marched for the second consecutive night against the unconsulted decision.

Residents chanted: "Save Our Home!”, “Say No To Designated Clinic For Chinese Pneumonia”, “The Failed Government Kills Hong Kong” while some waived flags that read "Liberate Hong Kong, Revolution of Our Times" and "Hong Kong Independence".

Police Arrest At Least 33 Civilians During Saturday's Rally Against Designated Clinic For Wuhan Pneumonia in Tin Shui Wan

The Hospital Authority of Hong Kong decided to turn 18 general out-patient clinics in various districts to "designated clinics" for Wuhan Pneumonia, without any consultation from respective district councils in advance.

Rallies have been initiated by residents from several districts over the weekend against the government’s decision. During the rally held in Tin Shui Wai on Saturday February 15, police have arrested at least 23 males and 10 females, with the ages range from 14 to 52, for "illegal assembly, Illegal radio broadcasting, possession of offensive weapon and misbehaviour in the public".

Government Insists Setting Up Designated Clinic for Contagious Wuhan Pneumonia in Densely Populated Area, Despite Public Discontent

Residents in Cheung Sha Wan organised a rally on Sunday, February 16 against the government’s decision to turn Cheung Sha Wan Jockey Club General Out-patient Clinic to a designated clinic for Wuhan Pneumonia. Despite outcry from all walks of life, the government refused to seal off Hong Kong borders with China.

The rally started in Lei Cheng Uk Estate. On a a banner prepared by the owner’s corporation of Lei Cheng Uk Estate, it ststed that the residents have voted to object the government’s decision in a gener meeting held on Feb 23.

Today citizens (22Feb) has organised a protest at Richland Gardens to object the government's decision of using the Kowloon Bay Healthcare Centre as a designated clinic for patients with the Wuhan Pneumonia.

The protest started at 2135 by celebrating with champagne for the police officer who got the Wuhan Pneunomia.

Citizens held posters and chanted, objecting the government's unconsulted decision.

Riot Police Conducting Duty With Professionalism - Dispersing Reporters Who "Obstructed Their Work" and Intimidated Citizens

Riot police subdued citizens onto the ground consecutively, and an officer could be seen pointing his pepper ball gun towards the crowd. Reporters tried to film the arresting process, yet riot police kept charging towards the press and requested them to step back and go away, saying that reporters were "obstructing their work" despite the fact that reporters had kept a certain distance with the police. In order to disperse the reporters, riot police pointed their pepper spray and batons to them as a means to threaten them.

Police yelled at a lady wearing in black and a face mask, apparently a passer-by, "Are you a reporter? Go home if you aren't!" Several of them surrounded her and blocked her way.
