On December 6, students doing group project on campus were escorted out by the security guard. In the end, the students had no choice but sat outside of the university to finish their work.

Hong Kong SAR Government
accused legislators and political figures of "spreading of untrue claims overseas"

The Hong Kong SAR government issued press release on December 6 to condemn unnamed legislators and political figures for urging "foreign governments or legislatures to interfere with the affairs of the HKSAR".

Meanwhile, the Hong Kong SAR Government is found repeating itself in the press releases issued on November 14 and December 6, both praising the practice of "one country two systems" in Hong Kong while condemning the world's attention to the human rights crisis in Hong Kong.

In addition, it is worrying that the Hong Kong SAR Government has been appying very similar speech pattern as Beijing does: "foreign legislatures should not interfere in any form in the internal affairs of the HKSAR".

Citizens' Press Conference on December 6: "From now on, we can only continue advancing our front, or else... We may have no more ‘now on’"

//Five years ago, when seven police officers brutally beat a protester in scenes seemingly more befitting gangsters rather than law enforcement, we sought justice against those officers instead of the system that bred those officers.

Today, that malignant cancer has now metastasised into blatant, unchecked police brutality, seemingly even becoming rather the norm.

Five years ago, when we too, scored something of a victory in the District Council elections, we stagnated. We failed to utilise the resources to address local issues, and we failed to inspire more of our fellow Hongkongers to join in our fight for freedom and democracy.

Today, that indolence has become our dysfunctional legislation. Five years ago, we chose to walk away from our fight on the streets, and ceased to escalate our movement. But to think, when we had put ourselves on pause, tyranny had not too put itself on pause, waiting for us to catch up.

Alas, five years ago! Speaking today, if we fail, shall we have five years more? From now on, we can only continue advancing our front, or else... We may have no more ‘now on’.

HK Police Accuses Ted Hui of Money Laundering and Violating National Security Law,

Barristers in Hong Kong pointed out that the police have to explain why they froze these assets which involves Hui's lifelong savings of several million Hong Kong dollars.

Ted Hui clarified in his Facebook post that all crowdfunding funds are deposited in a lawyer's account, which has nothing to do with his and his family's accounts:

"As for the funds raised in the crowdfunding campaign I initiated last year for private prosecutions against police brutality, they have been deposited in the account of the lawyer's office, and the audit report has been disclosed. The funds have nothing to do with my personal and family's accounts."

Hong Kong Police claimed on December 6 that they were looking into a suspected violation of National Security Law and money laundering, accusing the suspect of embezzling the crowdfunding funds through the bank accounts of the person's relatives. They also accused Hui of colluding with foreign forces to endanger national security.

As Hui said in his Facebook post earlier: "Certainly the #CCP and the SAR government can continue to condemn and accuse me, foreign politicians, and the whole world, but at the same time, the world clearly knows who is representing justice. The "Wolf-Warrior Diplomacy" will only be denounced by the world. As for the freezing of my persona and family's accounts, it is clear that the regime is using economic oppression as political retaliation, and collective punishment against my family members to persecute the opposition."

As of Dec 6, 2020, the Hong Kong Government issued over 7,217 fine tickets to the local population, which amounted to over 1.443 million HKD.

The Hong Kong Police issued 99.3% of these tickets and prosecuted 56 cases. The remaining 54 tickets were issued by the Food and Health Bureau.

With the coronavirus outbreak, the Hong Kong government implemented “group gathering restriction” since 29 March, 2020.

However, the fixed penalty of HKD2,000 will expire on 11 December, 2020, meaning that the authorities will possibly increase the penalty to HKD5,000 per ticket.

#UKParliament Denies Amendments to Expand #BNO #Visa to Hong Kong Youths

On December 6, 2021, pro-democracy activists - who fled Hong Kong amidst National Security threat and are now residing in UK - gathered outside the government house on Downing Street in London.

The group urged the passage of proposed amendments to the Borders and Nationality Bill to extend the eligibility of BNO visas to cover youngsters in Hong Kong who were bornafter the 1997 Handover.

Initiated by former Deputy Prime Minister #DamianGreen and supported by more than 20 cross-party MPs, the amendment bill aimed to allow those between the ages of 18 to 24 who have at least one parent with BNO status to claim that status in the UK, without being accompanied by their parent.

Several members of the Parliament and high-profile public figures attended the gathering to show their support. They include #AlynSmith MP, #AfzalKhan MP, #NusGhani MP, author and media veteran #EdwardLucas, #HongKongWatch CEO #BenedictRogers and Hong Kong Watch Senior policy advisor #SamGoodman.

Deliberated in the Parliament, the proposed amendment, unfortunately was rejected on December 8, 2021, as UK’s immigration minister #KevinFoster considered the expansion "too broad".

Foster claimed that alternative ways for those ineligibles to apply for BNO include student visa or working holiday.
