Young Girls Fell Victims to Arbitrary Arrests

Apple Daily acquired a video showing how three teenage girls got arrested on Monday evening in Hung Hom. In the video, onlookers said those girls absolutely did nothing illegal and “did not even put on a face mask”. They criticised the police for “arresting the girls for no reasons”.

As shown in the video, the three girls were wearing their casual clothing and with no face masks. They were stopped by several police officers. The police officers requested for reinforcement through walkie talkies. There were people nearby watching the whole time and said the arrested are for no reason. They commented that the girls absolutely have done nothing wrong. Police officers asked for the names of the three arrestees and shouted at the onlooking citizens, told them to “shut up and stay back. Police are carrying out duties”.

New Asia Middle School anti-extradition law concern group told the Apple Daily that one of the girls is a Form 6th student of the school, another girl is a 19-year-old former student and one is a F.6 student from another secondary school. Members of the concern group, quoting one onlooker who was at the scene that the police officers once said, “three people are enough (to charge them illegal assembly), they can all be arrested”.

Teenage Girls Taken Away by the Police for No Reason

"Observing as a Former Policeman: I Am Certain That the Policeman Shot with a Deliberative Aim"

[Editor's note: This is an opinion article in response to the police shooting of a schoolboy on October 1. Watch the
video]

//I watched the video repeatedly. As he was moving his gun about 50 angles from left to right, I am very sure that he could have chosen the other targets on the protestor’s body, such as his right arm, the right side of his waist, his right knee or the left one.

I must first mention how the police can use necessary force in the frontline: It takes less than one second for the policeman to pull out and expand his/her baton; On the other hand, it takes two or three seconds for him/her to release the holster’s bottom, pull out the pistol, unlock safety, aim, and fire.

In the video, the policeman moved his arm to aim for the protestor’s chest from left to right, and he had sufficient time to aim for other parts of his body, such as his right arm, the right side of his waist, or his lower body.

The police baton is an equipment that is designed for quick responses. Moving an expanded police baton creates a safe distance, eliminating any ”existing” threat.

Those so-called weapons poorly made by the protestors were too weak ever to be threats to the protection of the riot police, and therefore it was hardly possible that the police were in grave danger. If you are not convinced, I can tell you that the protestor had already hit the policeman with that ”weapon” a few times, yet it failed to remove the pistol from the policeman’s hand. On the basis of this observation, it indicates that the ”weapon” used by the protestor had almost no effect or damage to the police officer.

In the video, the policeman was holding a Rimington shotgun meanwhile hold a .38 pistol with his right hand, acting ”cooly” like a cowboy in a Western movie. Other policemen swiftly flanked his sides, just like those scenes in cinemas. It shows that the two of the police werr not performing their duties professionally, and were enjoying killing passionately.

If the elite force of our police could not handle a group of students, and saw the need to use live rounds in such a situation, shouldn't we reassess the reliability of the police force? //

The Protest on 6 September

(7 Sep) Why was there a protest today (6 Sep 2020)? Because the HKSAR Government (The Gov’t) deprived our right to a scheduled election. Why was there a protest today? Because the brutality of Hong Kong Police Force (HKPF) has never been stopped. Why was there a protest today? Because Hongkongers were repeatedly deprived of freedom, dignity and personal safety. The history will record the brutal totalitarianism, which uses law in disguise to mutilate the citizens.

//The movement has actually not yet over now, with more and more ridiculous “dramas” are shown everyday.

//they will definitely examine all thought speech and suppress all dissidents completely.

//in the eyes of the totalitarian the root causes of everything are still from the citizens who truly express their sincere feelings.

//This is the Hong Kong today - now anyone makes HKPF unhappy will be arrested or detained.

//HKPF are truly ignorance on how their brutality has created hates and fear of citizens towards them. The girl must be aware of HKPF maltreating young people, so her instinct told her to escape from HKPF to protect herself

//We cannot be numb towards HKPF’s freely indiscriminate arrests, or see it’s a norm. Citizens have right to go out on the street and have personal freedom

//HKPF have never stopped their non-human maltreats against arrestees, the situation is only getting worse and worse.

//HKPF’s violence towards reporters increases fiercely.
