Carson Tsang Long-hin, spokesperson of the group #Ideologist, was the volunteer first aider who appeared at the Coroner’s Court as a citizen witness for Alex Chow’s case.
Tsang said he respected the jury’s decision that the cause of death was suspicious, and hoped Hong Kongers would allow time for the Chow’s family to reflect and digest the decision.
Tsang criticised the police for lying at the press conference following Chow’s death that they did not enter the parking lot when Chow fell. The police only admitted doing so when evidence that showed the opposite was found.
Tsang also questioned whether the police have done their best on the investigation as they claimed that no videotape showing Chow’s fall was found. The videotape was later found upon investigation by the Coroner and the Coroner officer.

On Nov 4, 2019, 22-year-old student from Hong Kong University of Science & Technology (#HKUST), Alex Chow Tsz-lok fell to his death in a pro-democracy protest in Tsueng Kwan O. In Chow’s remembrance, a half-year memorial ceremony was organized on university campus in 2020.
Surprisingly, the University was reportedly seeking reprisal in January 2021 as member of the Student Union has been stripped of rights to use campus facilities for half a year. They were imposed of 75 hours mandatory campus service order while President and Vice-president of Student Union were suspended for one semester. Besides, disciplinary records would be kept for respective students.
The Union expressed utter disappointment at the University’s rule.

In Face Of Suspension, Head of Students Union Has No Regret in Pro-democracy Fight
The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (#UST) Students’ Union (#SU) was penalised by the university management due to their role in organising the Memorial Service in remembrance of the death of fellow student #AlexChow, repainting a part of the University Road and refusing to remove material that the University deemed as pro-Hong Kong Independence.
Ka-chun MAK, the President and Kai-ho LO, the Vice-President (Internal) of the Students Union were suspended for a semester, had to complete a 72-hour campus service order and were prohibited from using any campus facility.
Mak told InMedia that he wouldn’t regret about what he had done for HKUST and Hong Kong, and that the he became the President of the SU because he wanted to change the politically apathetic campus, so that students of the University could be ‘proud of HKUST’ outside academic proficiency. He did so also to raise civic consciousness and to take on more responsibility.
During the interview, news came in about the police once again breaking into the campus of the Chinese University of Hong Kong (#CUHK) and arresting several students.
Mak lamented that one had to weigh the consequences before doing anything then. ‘Will you be looked into under this circumstance?’ He sighed. He thought that everyone had their own standards in their mind, if they could afford the consequences of the actions they took, they should go ahead, prepared to accept the consequences that follow. ‘If you think whatever should be done is worth the legal consequences, then do it.’

Today (November 8) marked the second year since the passing of pro-democracy Hong Kong student #ChowTszLok. Citizens around the city brought brocades of white flowers to the site of his fatal fall in remembrance.
During the anti-ELAB movement in 2019, Chow, a 22-year-old university student, fell from the 3rd floor of a car park in Tseung Kwan O as police clashed with civilians in nearby streets.
He died from his injuries in hospital 4 days later, on November 8, 2019.
A Coroner’s inquest was conducted in January 2021 to determine cause of Chow’s death. However, as the jury was unable to decide the causes and circumstances of his death, the coroner pronounced an open verdict.

Grandma Wong was in Tseung Kwan O around 7:30pm, holding a handbill with the number 2 in her hands, signifying the two years since the death of Chow Tsz-lok.
She chanted familiar protest slogan “Five Demands No One Less”, and called for establishing an independent inquiry commission to investigate the cause of Chow's death.
Moments later, Grandma Wong was quickly surrounded by police officers, who then took her away in a police car.

After China's imposition of National Security Law and crackdowns on dissenting voices in what was once one of the world freest cities, Hong Kong has not seen large scale gatherings in remembrance of those who suffered police brutality and sacrificed their lives during the quest of freedom and democracy.
On this night (Novermber 8), defiant Hongkongers continued to pay tribute to #ChowTszLok, a university student who passed away after falling from height in a car park during anti-ELAB movement in 2019.
In a park not far away from the car park, several light boxes with Chow's portrait and a line of white candles had been set up in Chow's remembrance.
A second set of light boxes displayed the citizens' vow to continue their quest for democracy, pledging to Chow that they will "carry on your unfinished journey (代你走下去)."

On November 9, 2021, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (#HKUST) announced that its president #WeiShyy will step down on October 19 next year, almost a year before his five-year term is due to end.
Shyy didn't explain why he was resigning.
The aerospace professor became head of HKUST in September 2018 and is the President with the shortest tenure.
