Barrister agrees to disclose identity of sanctioned officials, condemning Hong Kong government as "hypocrite"
Barrister Craig Choy replied to Apple Daily stating that it is necessary to disclose the personal data of the sanctioned persons to prevent the company from transacting with them, and to avoid misidentification and erroneously impose sanctions on ordinary citizens. ID card and passport numbers are able to comprehensively identify the sanctioned person.
Choi pointed out that Hong Kong government, like the United States, has disclosed the information of sanctioned persons, denouncing the hypocrisy and double standards of the Hong Kong government and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner, stating that the authorities should also criticize the United Nations for violation of human rights and "data ethics" as well to unite their stance for such ethics.

The organizers of one of the world’s most prestigious defense gatherings are in the midst of an uncomfortable international standoff between the Canadian government and China over a major award they had planned to give to the president of Taiwan.
The standstill, which is ongoing and has not been previously reported, has created tension between the Halifax International Security Forum and the Canadian government, which is a major sponsor of the forum.
Late last year, according to multiple sources familiar with the matter, the forum’s organizers decided to give its John McCain Prize for Leadership in Public Service to Tsai Ing-wen, the president of Taiwan. Cindy McCain, a member of the forum’s board of directors, greenlit the decision to honor Tsai with the prize named after her late husband.

This latest design, showing a soldier giving the middle finger to a Russian warship, was approved by #Ukrposhta, the Ukrainian post office and titled “Russian Warship, Go Fuck Yourself.”
The artwork for this stamp was created by Borys Groh to commemorate a Ukrainian soldier’s profane refusal to acquiesce to a Russian warship’s demand to lay down weapons.
Ukrposhta said that the new stamp is set to encourage Ukrainians to send it to their “friends abroad or send a fiery “hello” to the Russians.”

HK Schools Resumed after "Early Summer Vacation", with Daily Rapid Testing for Students
During the daily #COVID19 press conference on April 11, Chief Executive Carrie Lam announced plans for schools to resume beginning on April 19, after nearly 2 months of suspension due to a wave of #Omicron sweeping through the city.
Students will need to take a rapid test every day before attending school; only those with a negative result will be allowed in.
The government also laid out guidelines for closing schools: if 5% of a school's students and staff test positive, the Centre for Health Protection (#CHP) will investigate the outbreak.
Vaccination will not be required for students, but those without it will not be allowed to attend extracurricular activities.
The timeline for resuming in-person classes:
Secondary schools: Starting May 3, schools can resume their classes in stages or entirely. By May 10, all classes must resume.
Primary schools: classes can resume in stages or entirely starting April 19. All classes must resume by May 3.
Kindergartens: One-third of classes are to resume starting May 3, with the remaining to resume on May 10. All classes must resume by May 16.
This will bring an end to the suspension of classes, which was began on Feb 21 when the government announced an "early summer vacation" for all schools.
During the press conference, Carrie Lam expressed her thanks that more schools have proactively taken anti-pandemic measures, including arranging vaccinations and distributing prevention kits, as a result of the government-mandated "summer vacation".
During the questioning period, a NowTV reporter asked whether parents could opt for online classes, instead of sending their children to school.
Secretary of Education Kevin Yeung replied that the policy was a balance between needs and risks, and they found that despite the risk being non-zero, resuming in-person classes was necessary. He further stated that students aged 6-15 are required by law to attend school.
