Netizens initiated a “Sing with You” event at Tuen Mun Town Plaza in the evening. Despite the fact that participants were aware of and maintained social distance, police stormed into the mall just like in the past few weeks.
District councillor Lo Chun-ya expressed that police officers are disturbing the civilians from having dinner and shopping in the mall. He also questioned why the mall allowed the police to enter private property, and hence he has requested an explanation from the property management.

Today some citizens have become emotional at the front of the defense line during the commemorative event.

Police disperse courtroom spectators on "gathering ban" grounds
Unable to send son off, mother in tears
(4 May) This afternoon, Tuen Mun Magistrates' Court held a hearing on a case related to the Anti-Extradition Movement. Many attended to show support. While awaiting the send-off, at least 6 police vehicles arrived on scene. Dozens of police officers got out and dispersed the supporters on the grounds of "gathering ban".
Today was Ms Leung's first time going to a hearing. She recalled that at around 3:30 pm when she and other supporters were waiting for the send-off by the court building's exit, the police vehicles had already arrived. Towards 4:30 pm, more police vehicles arrived and dozens of police officers alighted. They dispersed the people present, indicating that they had "a common purpose" and exclaimed, "You have only one chance. Are you going to leave?" A cordon was immediately set up by the door of the prisoner transport vehicle. Searches were conducted on youngsters. She stated that police officers were stationed on at least three sides of the court building and that they dispersed those present. Plainclothes officers also argued with them.
Ms Leung added that a detainee's mother - who was there to send her son off - was "pushed off the cordoned area and cried her heart out". Ms Leung reproached, "It is ridiculous. Even if they forbid us, they should still permit family members. Seeing his mother [in that state] was heartbreaking!" Tears fell as she spoke. Ms Leung was also driven away by the police left unable to support the detainees as intended. "I wonder if (the prisoner transport vehicle) has left yet."
Tsang Kam-wing, Sam Cheung Ho-sum and other Tuen Mun district councillors also showed up to monitor the situation. Cheung condemned the police' excuse of the gathering ban to disperse citizens and use warning flags at all. On the obstruction of the send-off, he exclaimed, "It's almost Mother's Day and they won't even let mothers see their sons!"
