Joshua Wong protests against political censorship by electoral officials

On 26 July, 2020, former Secretary-General of Demosisto Joshua Wong received an inquiry from an electoral officer called Alice Choi.

Wong was requested to explain whether he would continue to advocate for ”Democracy and autonomy”, an objective of the now-dissolved Demosisto and what is his stance on the National Security Law. He was also questioned if he would get support from external forces and put pressure on China and Hong Kong in the future with his position and power as a lawmaker. On the seven questions and ten appendixes raised by the electoral official, Joshua Wong said,”that’s the longest among all the candidates. It fully reflects how serious and detailed political censorship done by the government is.”
