U.K. Legislators: The Death of the Rule of Law in Hong Kong
Police brutality in Hong Kong had became an international scandal. Sanctions from various countries were on the trigger. Five members of the House of Lords of the UK wrote to Queen Elizabeth II recently, asking the royal family to remove the word “Royal” and its crowned badge from the Royal Hong Kong Police Association.
The letter states that the Hong Kong Police Force had to bear the main responsibility for the death of the rule of law in Hong Kong, and a large number of deaths and sexual assault cases were suspected to be related to the police. Therefore, the image of the crown was no longer suitable to be placed at the association.
