Kyodo News: Britian to Send Aircraft Carrier Strike Group to Waters Near Japan

Kyodo News reported that the British Navy will dispatch an aircraft carrier strike group centered on the state-of-the-art carrier, HMS Queen Elizabeth, to Western Pacific including the Nansei Islands chain in southwestern Japan near Okinawa, according to Japanese government sources who revealed it on Saturday (5th December).

The report said that the aircraft carrier group is expected to get support from the US military in Japan, and carrier-based F-35B stealth fighter is planned to have maintenance at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries aerospace systems works in Aichi Prefecture, central Japan.

Japan intends to deepen its cooperation with the UK, which has one of the world's best naval powers, as a gesture to confront China and maintain order, since China has been stepping up its maritime activities. It is rare to see aircraft carriers from outside the U.S. and neighboring countries operating in the Western Pacific. The reasons behind are China’s strong presence in the South China Sea and British government deep concern over Hong Kong issues.

Washington to Restrict Cloud Service Providers from Cooperating With Foreign Companies That Harbor Hackers, Targeting at China, Russia and Iran

Cyber-attack by hackers is rampant. A report said that President Trump is drafting an executive order to restrict the international operation of U.S. cloud computing companies such as Amazon and Microsoft, regulating their corporation with foreign cloud companies, in an effort to protect against foreign cyber-attack from hackers, referring to those from China, Russia, and Iran.

According to sources, the executive order allows the Department of Commerce to prohibit U.S. cloud providers from partnering with foreign cloud companies that offer safe haven to hackers and forbid foreign providers from operating in the U.S., preventing foreign hackers to conduct quick and anonymous cyberattacks through cloud service provider.

U.S. officials repeatedly accuse China of its economic and security threat. The report said that this executive order is intended to address the attack from China. It has also been reported that the measure is also targeted to deal with hacking attacks by Russia and Iran.

China Peddles Falsehoods to Obscure Origin of Covid Pandemic

China Peddles Falsehoods to Obscure Origin of Covid Pandemic

The Chinese government started a propaganda campaign by misrepresenting experts’ remarks and given dubious theories the veneer of science.

Alexander Kekulé, the director of the Institute for Biosecurity Research in Halle, Germany, has been all over the state-run media in China. News outlets have taken Dr. Kekulé’s research out of context to suggest that Italy, not China, is where the coronavirus pandemic began. Photos of him have appeared on Chinese news sites under headlines reading, “China is innocent!”

Dr. Kekulé, who has repeatedly said that he believes the virus first emerged in China, was startled and said, “this is pure propaganda.”

These reaction reflect anxiety within the ruling Communist Party about the continuing damage to China’s international reputation brought by the pandemic.

China, has greatly expanded its influence in the W.H.O. in recent years, has tightly controlled the effort by designating Chinese scientists to lead key parts of the investigation.

Captions in Monster Hunter are said to be Assaulting China, Resulting in Releasing and Removing Within a Day. China's Netizens Mock "Don't wanna Earn Money from China?"

Monster Hunter, a game adaption movie, was released in China and Taiwan on December 4. However, the movie was fully off-shelf in China as one of the captions, said by the actor MC Jin, was claimed to be assaulting China. In the past, MC Jin was indicated as pro-Beijing and was criticised by the pro-democracy Hong Kong protestors. These two accusations made him difficult to get along with either sides. Some Chinese netizens criticised under his Weibo account that "Pretending to be a China-lover for many years and now using your knees to suppress Chinese? Huh?"

MC Jin Captions was accused to be assaulting China

The incident was from a movie scene with a soldier, acted by MC Jin, who said "Look at my knees", followed by someone saying "What kind of knees are these?" and an answer from MC Jin "Chinese". The Chinese subtitles did not directly translate to "Chinese" but only "Gold under a man's knees". Nevertheless, Chinese netizens still strongly criticised these captions. Some online sources said the cations were from a nursery rhyme in the second world war, "Chinese, Japanese, dirty knees, look at these", used as mocking the Chinese and Japanese tradition to bend down their knees, involving discriminatory elements.

After the movie release, some Chinese audience criticised the movie assaulting China, initiated a boycott against it, and asked the National Radio and Television Administration (NRTA) to remove it from the shelf. Some netizens questioned, "What is (NRTA) doing? Don't they censor the movie?"

Moreover, some netizens protested at the comment field under the Weibo accounts of MC Jin and CAPCOM, the original game publishing company. especially for MC Jin, because of his previous stands being said to be pro-Beijing, this "China-assaulting case disappointed lots of Chinese netizens. "MC Jin did this action, isn't RMB attractive? Not wanting to earn money from China? It is weird for him to have this fault!"
