As of September 9, 2020
1. China Marine Police intercepted 12 Hong Kong youngsters on August 23, 2020 and have been holding them in custody in China for 18 days.
The detainees' families appointed Chinese lawyers to deal with cases. 5 lawyers went to Yantian District Detention Centre where the youngsters are detained, but the Chinese authorities disallowed the detainees from meeting their lawyers.
2. The human rights lawyers appointed by detainees' family have been facing varying degree of pressure and oppression in China. At least two of them have decided to withdraw. In order to protect these lawyers, their identities will not be disclosed without their conscent.
3. Lawyers opined that the Chinese authorities could escalate the case to “illegal border crossing” with the maximum penalty increasing from 1-year to life imprisonment.
4. In China, the Yantian Detention Center has reportedly stepped up police enforcement.
To make things worse, electronic appointment service for the 12 detainees has been suspended, meaning that the lawyers must apply for a meeting with their client on site. Regardless how, the Chinese authorities have been rejecting such meeting request.
5. On Sept 9, the Detention Centre told Mr Lu Siwei, a human rights lawyer appointed by a detainee's family, that his client has already “instructed” two other lawyers to follow the case, therefore they will NOT arrange a visit for Mr Lu.
The lawyers mentioned by the Detention Centre are believed to be directly appointed by the CCP Government.

National Security Police Raids June 4 Museum in Hong Kong, Damaging Exhibits and Locking Out Owner
On September 9, 2021, the national security police in Hong Kong raided the already-closed June 4 museum in Mong Kok.
This is followed by the arrest of four core members of the Hong Kong Alliance in Support of Patriotic Democratic Movements of China.
Police carried off display boards, the museum's logo, material showing #XiJinping and #MaoZedong, 39 boxes of books, as well as other items, and took them away in a truck. Some exhibition panels were damaged in the process.
When a former member went to examine the museum site after the raid, he found that the security camera had been removed, and electric cable were damaged. The door lock had also been changed, and he could not enter the museum. On the gate, the national security police left a handwritten note: "'contact the Mongkok Police Station".
The Alliance had been the organizer of the annual June 4 candlelight vigil since 1990. The event as well as the museum aimed to remember the Tiananmen Massacre by the Chinese Communist Party on June 4, 1989.

On September 9, citizens came from across Britain to London's Buckingham Palace to pay tributes to their beloved late Queen Elizabeth II, who passed away on Sept 8 after an historic seven decades on the British throne. Light rain showers throughout the day did not deter the mourning crowds; many held up umbrellas as they continued to pay their respects.
As a continuous stream of citizens came to pay their respect at the Royal residences, crowd controls measures are put in place to guide the public to lay their flowers at nearby Green Park and Hyde Park. In addition to colorful flower bouquets, many citizens also left carefully written notes expressing their love and gratitude to the departed Queen.
