Police Encircle Pandemic Prevention Booth Run by Pro-democracy Activist
Pro-democracy activist Tam Tak-chi set up a booth on the street of Kowloon Bay on July 20 to help raise citizens' awareness of the COVID-19 pandemic.
At around 7pm, over 20 uniform police of the PTU arrived at the scene, claiming that the gathering ban (Cap.599G) might have been violated.
After the police left, Tam chanted "Liberate Hong Kong, Revolution of Our Times", a popular protest slogan perceived by the government as a suggestion of independence. The police then returned to raise the purple flag, warning of the possible infringement of the National Security Law. The police behaviour had agitated the civilians waiting at the bus stop.

Police moved forward quickly and suddenly and intercepted lots of civilians. On Feb 28, 2021 in Hong Kong, pro-democracy students and hospital workers held a street booth in Mongkok, to call for Hongkongers to boycott the government's "#LeaveHomeSafe" mobile app, rejecting the regime's surveillance and tracking. They also call on Hongkongers to resist to the end.
The booth is held by #StudentPoliticism together with Hospital Authority Employees Alliance (#HAEA).
In addition to calling for the boycott of the tracking app, they also call attention to the police's political persecution of the participants in the "35+" pro-democracy primary elections in 2020.
On Feb 28, 2021, the police announced that the arrestees are charged for sedition under the National Security Law, and will be brought to court on the morning of the next day on March 1.
Spokesperson of Student Politicism Wong Yat-Chin encouraged citizens to attend the court hearing to show support for the pro-democracy camp.
In Mongkok, thd police deployed over 30 officers to surround the small street booth; at one point, the officers occupied two-thirds of the pedestrian walkway. They left after recording personal details of the activists, and warned them not to be too loud.
In less than an hour later, the police hoisted the "#purpleflag" warning civilians in the area of potentially "violating the #NationalSecurityLaw".

At the corner of the West Kowloon Magistrates’ Court in Hong Kong, police officers raised the blue flag, warning of an unlawful assembly, and the purple flag, warning citizens about actions that might violate the National Security Law, a few times over 30 seconds.
The officers asked the citizens at the location to leave.
As they were raising the purple flag, the officers also declared that the slogans chanted by the citizens have violated the National Security Law and their action is an act of inciting secession, they demanded the citizens to stop chanting the slogans immediately.
