Hundreds of citizens lined up to visit the “Hong Kong Story” exhibit of the Hong Kong History Museum to witness its last day before closing for renovations.
Mr. Chan, a citizen in his 60s, said people should “visit when there is still a chance”. He suspected the purpose of the renovation is to remove historical facts to fit Beijing's "political correctness" and add sections to glorify China.
“If it wasn’t the social movement last year, I wouldn't have realized how much I love Hong Kong”, Chan said, “Looking back at the old times, Hong Kong was so beautiful. There were hard times, but at least the government treated us better.”

Hongkongers have worry over the Authorities' Censorship of Local History By Renovating the History Museum
On the last day of the "Hong Kong Story" exhibition, visitors used creative way to voice out their pro-democracy demands in the Hong Kong Museum of History.
Memo and stickers which wrote “#SAVE12HKYOUTHS” and “Liberate Hong Kong, the revolution of our times” were found on the panels about the Sino-British Joint Declaration.
Mr. Cheung, a visitor wearing a T-shirt with the British Hong Kong flag and slogan “I AM HONG KONGER”, said that the social movement last year motivated citizens to find out more about Hong Kong’s history. He worried that the renovation will whitewash the local's past, “just like what they [the authorities] did to the Triad Attack in Yuen Long July 21, 2019”.
