Unsettling start: Police charged at Hong Kong citizens for chanting slogans
In Hong Kong, large group of civilians gathtered in Tsim Sha Tsui to celebrate the coming of 2021. As seen in the video, many chanted slogans including "Liberate Hong Kong, Revolution of Our Times" and "Your whole family will die, corrupt police!" during and after countdown, in spite of the National Security Law .
When civilians were leaving afterwards, police suddenly charged at the crowd, shining torches directly to them and yelled, "Who chanted [the slogans]?", while instructing fellow officers to film the crowd.
Meanwhile, police intercepted a man wearing a black mask, arousing indignition from other passers-by. Police demanded all civilians to keep moving forward and prohibited them from staying at the spot.
