Ukrainian soldier sacrificed himself to slow Russian Invasion

In an encounter with #Russian military force in #Crimea, the Ukrainians had to destroy a mined bridge in order to prevent some Russian forces from advancing out of Crimea.

Volunteered in this mission, Vitaly Skakun Volodymyrovych, a member of the Ukrainian Marine Corps went alone and had successfully blown up the bridge.

Unfortunately he did not have time to flee the scene, thus sacrificed in the bombing.

His last communication with his task force was ‘Blowing up the bridge’, followed by the bombing, and his tragic perish.

His heroic act had successfully stopped the Russian tanks from moving forward, as well as slowed down their invasion, buying the Ukrainian military more time to plan and defend Russian attacks.

The Ukrainian military reiterated at the end of their announcement that, ‘We will fight as long as we are alive!’

Russian Firms Turn to Hong Kong in Bid to Avoid Sanctions

Russian companies shut out of Western financial capitals are exploring Hong Kong as an alternative, stoking concern among US officials that the Asian hub will become a haven for businesses sanctioned over the war in Ukraine.

A number of major, including state-owned, Russian companies are seeking to engage with Hong Kong law firms to help anchor them in a “friendlier jurisdiction” than places such as New York and London, said Sherman Yan, a managing partner at Hong Kong’s ONC Lawyers.
