Hong Kong Government's Discriminative Treatment: Open Borders with China; Ban Entry of Passengers from South Korea

Many people in Hong Kong asked, "What about China?".

On February 24, the Hong Kong government announced its policy of prohibiting passengers from South Korea, including those who have travelled to South Korea in the past 14 days, from entering Hong Kong starting from 6 am on February 25.

Until then, the Hong Kong-China borders remain open, despite the local population's vocal demands to have it closed.

As of February 24, there have been 833 cases of Wuhan pneumonia in South Korea and nearly 77,000 cases reported in China.

Meanwhile, China's Ministry of Culture and Tourism told PRC nationals not to go to the United States for the "unfair treatment" they would receive.

German Minister of Foreign Affairs Call on Biden to Unite against CCP, with the Response from the Head of Chinese Official Media with Foul Language

After the US media predicted that Biden defeated Trump in the President-election yesterday, European leaders came to congratulate Biden, with the prospect of cooperating with the US to confront global issues. Heiko Maas, the Minister of Foreign Affairs in Germany, have raised a stir with Chinese official media after he published his congratulatory statement.

After the announcement from the media about the victory of Biden, Maas also congratulated Biden in a statement and mentioned his plan to connect with the US government, regarding issues of China, climate change, and the coronavirus pandemic. Maas stated that only if the west come together in unity, would they have the necessary influence to defend their shared values of the world.

In the fear that the west would rebuild their front against China, Chen Weihua, the head of European division of China Daily, posted “The funking Mass” on Twitter yesterday to express his discontent and aggression. He soon deleted his insult, but Thorsten Benner, the founder of Global Public Policy Institute, captured this classic post just in time.

US said that the Navy should Combat China and Russia more Decisively as China has the Most Oppressive Threats to the US

A report from the US Department of Defense says that China and Russia are the “rivalry" of the US. The report also suggests that the US Navy combat China and Russia with a “more decisive stance” as China has adopted the “most pressing” approach, which strategically threatens the US.

Heads of the US Marines Corps, Navy and Coastal Guard warn in the report that “the rules of the international order has been attacked again”. The report describes that China and Russia are rivalries of the US as the safety environment has been changing drastically since 2015, especially when China posed a “most pressing long term strategical threat”.

The report further stated China as the US competitor in economic and military potential, causing “long term and holistic challenge to the US”. “China refuses to use a conventional logistic hub, restricts marine freedom, controls the use of key location, impedes US interventions of regional disputes, and replaces the US as the primary choice of marine partner in the globe.”

Telephone Call between Chinese and Russian Foreign Ministers Accuses US of Unilateral Sanctions, Indicating Cooperation between the Two Countries in Resistance to Suppression from US

Tension between US-China and US-Russia relationship continues to heighten. In a telephone call on December 22 between Chinese Foreign Minister and State Councillor Wang Yi and Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lavrov, the two foreign ministers stated that the two countries shall continue to work closely together to combat suppression from the US.

Wang told Lavrov that China and Russia share a “high quality and special” relationship. He also agreed with Russia President Putin that leaders from the two countries have built a highly mutually trusting and friendly relationship, and that both countries share much common ground on multiple issues.

Wang criticised the US of “going against the current trends and still waving its huge stick of unilateral sanctions”, and that the US “would only leave undignified records in the world”. Lavrov responded that the two nations shall firmly oppose the US’s destructive actions towards multilateralism, reinstating that suppression from the US must be resisted. He claimed that such could effectively protect international law, the mutual benefits for the two countries, as well as international stability and cooperation.
