1946 | Yuen Long

Today marks the 9th mensiversary of the 7.21 attack. 9 months ago, triads discriminately attacked citizens returning home in Yuen Long. The Police have been repeatedly denying its involvement in coalescing with the triads with lax arresting of the involvers and providing a sluggish response that day.

Today (Apr 21) the MTR closes the major exits in Yuen Long station and police are deployed to prevent civilians from commemerating the 7.21 attack.

In the evening, a car accident happened nearby Tung Yik Market in Yuen Long. A large group of riot police arrived and dispersed the onlooking crowd.

Targeting youngsters, riot police conducted stop and search across the street and a cordon line was set up in front of the wet market, causing sever traffic jam.

Police Demand Stand News Reporter to prove identity through income

3 reporters, including one from Stand News, were stopped and searched by the police while reporting the commemoration of university student Chow Tsz-lok on Aug 8, 2020, which marked 9 months after his death.

After showing the press pass and ID card, the Stand News reporters was asked by the police for proof that he is a salaried employee of the news agency. Police demanded the reporter to call his colleagues to provide proof. In the end, the police ticketed the other two reporters for violating the gathering ban because they "failed" to prove their identity as a journalist. “You’re on the borderline,” said the police to the Stand News reporter, “but I trust that you are just here to do your job”.

November 11-15, 2019: Battle of #CUHK

// Before the siege at PolyU, there was the violent battle at CUHK. The No. 2 Bridge shall be chronicled into history as the first battlefront for academic freedom.

It was then when I first heard the police shout, "There isn’t enough ammunition, order more to be sent from Wong Tai Sin!", the commander shouted into his intercom.

On the frontline at No.2 Bridge that day, the injured were carried away one by one. Burst eyes, shots to the chest, burnt arms and legs, respiratory problems from breathing in too much mace, and too many more. Yet as the injured retreated one by one, more took their place in the smoke and flames.

On that day, CUHK became a field hospital. Former President of the University Joseph Sung brought Hong Kong's top medical team. They, along with alumni and students, rushed back to defend the school, and as supplies kept coming through, the human chain soon reached from the No.2 Bridge to the School Gate.

On that day, I saw a young protestor go into cardiac arrest after breathing in too much mace. Luckily, he received cardiopulmonary resuscitation and he coughed out most of it, saving his life.

Do not forget what these young people have fought for. Do not forget our history. Chronicle every moment, for the regime is seeking to erase it. //
