Police Press Reporter's Head into Pepper-sprayed Liquid on the Ground

On May 11 at around 11:20pm, 50 civilians including TMHK reporter were encircled by the riot police at the intersection of Shantung Street and Sai Yeung Choi Street South. Police ordered all civilians to kneel on the ground and the detention lasted more than an hour.

According to TMHK reporter, riot police kept pepper-spraying pepper, forming and trapping the pungent liquid on the ground. Police then pressed the reporter's head on the ground for a certain duration, causing burnt and pain on his head, neck and back.

Police Swears At and Pepperspray Onlookers and Reporters

At Shatin's New Town Plaza, the police arrested a teenage boy. One police officer pressed the boy on the floor and his partner pointed pepper spray at the surrounding onlookers.

A woman immediately opened her umbrella to protect herself. Without any prior warning, the police pepper-sprayed the civilians and reporters at close range, while the officer kept on cussing hysterically.

Those who fell victim to the police pepper spray at the scene had their skin injured, as the burning sensation continued to hurt.

"The pain is really quite intense, I don't think I will be able to sleep tonight," said S, the person who filmed this.

Female Reporter Pepper-sprayed in Public Washroom Lost Consciousness

On the night of #May10, Online media Ben Yu Entertainment's reporter KY saw two women were tied in a public restroom, and wanted to photograph the process. However, a police officer then grabbed her camera and pepper-sprayed her at a close distance. She could not breathe and lost consciousness. Riot police disperses crowds gathered due to cordon line

Police set up a long cordon line along Nathan Road and Dundas Street, causing many bystanders to stop over and wait for the cordon line to be removed.

23-year-old stage designer not to be charged with common assault - Police threaten supporters with pepper spray

A 23-year-old stage designer found guilty earlier for possessing an offensive weapon in public and attempting to commit arson with intent was not guilty of common assault. He was nevertheless sentenced to 4 years in prison.

After the court was adjourned, tens of citizens showed their support for the stage designer outside the court, and chanted "We support you until the end!' and "Five demands, not one less!" Some tapped on the prison van. Police showed up in 3 minutes and cordoned off the area, and raised their pepper spray to disperse the citizens.

Reporters Attacked by Police "Water" Cannon Trucks Multiple Times

At around 1700, a RTHK reporter was hit by water cannon the second time, requiring medical attention from volunteer first aid. Around the same time, on Johnston Road / Fleming Road intersection in Wanchai, multiple reporters were also hit with liquid blasts during a police operation. Note, these "water" cannons are actually firing pepper spray liquid which stings the victim.
