A duet of "Glory to Hong Kong" in flute and harmonica was sounded during the New Year's March on the first day of 2020.

The harmonious scene soon came to an end as police called off the demonstration at around 17:30 and demanded the participating citizens to evacuate within 30 minutes.
Police arrested around 400 civilians in Causeway Bay, a downtown shopping area, on New Year Day.

Civilians were ordered to line up on the pavement and raise their hands while waiting to be checked and, if arrested, to be transported to the police stations.
