Riot police repeatedly called the protesters as roaches during the confrontations today at Kowloon Bay.

During their operations, a journalist overheard a police's dialogue "roaches on the right".

While they were marching to arrest protesters, they forcefully pushed away the press. After making the arrest, several journalist were thrust and obstructed to film and record by the police. Such obstruction act by the police drove a state of discontent from the journalists. They complained the police for their act has infringed the freedom of press. Police responded and accused the journalists as "roaches", claiming, "Journalists are roaches too, and you are responsible for these roaches".

In addition, they call protesters "rioters" and "cockroaches". As seen from the photo, the mentioned WhatsApp group has collected many photos of people in black clothes, referring to them as cockroaches (曱甴). Such networks are used to locate and attack protesters.
