The Hong Kong Police banned the May 1 Protest organized by pro-democracy Confederation of Trade Union. The pro-democracy population turned to weaponize their spending power to help out pro-protest 'yellow' stores.
Among them, restaurant Agabe Garden opened a special counter selling boxes of egg rolls, tea leaves, books and others in support of Hong Kong's democracy movement.
Singer Candy Lo, Lead Singer Sammy So of local band Kolor and pro-democracy lawmaker Jeffery Tam appeared in the store as voluntary shopkeepers.
