During the 71st Japan's #NHK television special Kohaku Uta Gassen that was held on the last day of 2020, an introductory video clip was shown during Japanese singer Seiko Matsudaās performance of āRuiiro no Chikyu 2020ā, depicting all the crises the world had faced in 2020.
The video included footages of the coronavirus pandemic and many conflicts from around the world during 2020. Police-civilian clashes in Hong Kong, the United States, and Thailand were also shown.
Matsuda used her song to send a message about the need to protect our planet and that the darkest hour is just before the dawn.
