Police Pull Elderly into Cordon and Show Different Call Numbers on Uniform

Netizens initiated a “silent march” in Mongkok area on Jun28. Police were heavily deployed and conducted stop-and-search on-the-spot.

The police raised blue flag and set up a blockade line, forbidding civilians to pass.

Suddenly, the police charged forward and searched people inside the shops. Some elderly grumbled and police brought and searched them in the cordon.

According to PSHK reporter, the identification labels are different on two sides of the police vest, one example being “Traffic KW” and “Escort Team W-7”. It was not sure if it was the number used among the traffic police.

Police Call Out a Man to be Searched at Street Corner

A man was called out by the police from a crowd to be searched individually.
Such a move aroused attention from the citizens nearby, who approached the citizen for information. They were ordered to stand back as the policemen claimed that “When you stand farther away, you can take photos with a wider angle, and you can capture the truth of the event.”

Police Separate a Shopping Family, Child Traumatized Seeing his Father Being Taken
Away

The police separated a family of three on a Sunday when setting up a cordon at Dundas Street.

The father was taken away by the police. The son was traumatized and cried by holding his mother.

The mother told a journalist that they went to buy fruits at the wholesale fruit market in Yau Mai Tei. After parking their car, they went to Mong Kok to buy beverage.

The police set up a cordon line suddenly. Police caught her husband in the cordon and brought him to a police station.

Police Arrests At Least 53 Civilians, First Aiders and District Councilors in Mongkok

On June 28, netizens called for a silent protest where no slogans would be chanted and no assembly would be made. This, nevertheless, triggered the police massive crackdown, cordoning Nathan Road, congesting traffic and entrapping civilians.

At one point, police fired pepperspay without warning and injured passersby, elderly and reporters.

The heavy police presence has caused terror on the street of Hong Kong. A family of three, going shopping, was separated as the father was taken away.

At around 18:06 in Mongkok, many arrestees were waiting to be escorted. Among them, there are middle aged civilians and first-aider-like civilians wearing reflective vest.

According to Stand News, police has arrested at least 53 people including first aiders, district councilors Lam Siu-bun and Tsui Tsz-kin.

Police Detain Councilor Assistant during protest crackdown in Mongkok

On Sunday, June 28, netizens initiated a silent protest with no slogan chanting and no assembly. However, the police cordoned the area to encircle civilians, reporters and firstaiders.

When police moved the cordon line forward at around 16:30, they let journalists leave. However, police didn't allow a councillor assistant who was taking photos and recording an incident to go even he showed his staff card. After checking his ID and searching him, police let him go finally. During the process, the police were still polite.

Said assistant works for councilor Valarie Wong Cheuk Nga from the Hau Tak constituency.
