Roadblocks in Wuhan Coronavirus outbreak: Hunan Province blocks all the roads avoiding accesses from Hubei 1/3

Editor’s Note: Hunan, the Province next to Hubei Province, its government decides to block all the roads connecting to that new Coronavirus disaster area. From the pictures, the blockades are not only covering the main roads or control points, but even more on those pathways. This is well understandable that, in China, everyone is good at playing games with shortcuts to bypass genuine channel. That’s why, in government perspective, the best way preventing entry of the virus is to eliminate every single possible access. Wellbeing of or curing Hubei / Wuhan people is never a consideration.

Roadblocks in Wuhan Coronavirus outbreak: Jiangxi 3/3

Editor’s Note: One of the photos showing a sign of “Jiangxi People Welcome You”, so it is likely to be the road between Jiangxi and Hunan; another photo showing a wooden sign “Entry and out are forbidden” and “No Paying New Year Call”. Some netizens were joking that those people are yellow ribbons as they were also making “
roadblocks”.

To prevent virus carriers from entering, people across China have built blockades one after another to keep away outsiders.

Police Allegedly Set Roadblocks with Cars Carrying Civilians, Causing Tragedy

In February 2018, police officers were suspected to use civilians’ cars as “human road block” to stop a van from travelling at high speed in Fanling, causing 5 cars to collide in the end. The driver and a male passenger on the van were killed, and the driver of the “human road block” vehicle became unconscious due to the incident.

The Coroner's Court started a hearing on this case earlier. It was ruled that the driver and the passenger were killed on accident. The cause of the accident was cars driving slowly according to instructions of police officers.

Magistrate Chow Wai-choo advised the Hong Kong Police Force to train officers and make sure they understand regulations related to their work. The Hong Kong Police Force shall submit a written response within 6 months regarding these suggestions.
