Stampede in Yau Ma Tei on November 18

(19 Nov) At about 23:30 on November 18, a group of demonstrators was chased by the police to the Yau Ma Tei MTR station. Some stumbled to the ground. People on the scene were being stepped on due to the chaos. The police separated the firefighters and first-aid personnel from the protesters as firefighters and first-aid workers were providing assistance. They also refused the press access to the scene. Police officers arrested individuals who attempted to rescue and provided assistance to the protesters. However, they did not provide aid to the injured protesters. Police officers attacked reporters with pepper spray, hindering and preventing reporters from filming.

Kong Wing Cheung, Senior Superintendent of the Police Public Relations Branch, said at a press conference this afternoon that he had not received any reports of "human stampede" in the dispersal operation in Yau Ma Tei yesterday. The police's arguments obviously deviate from the truth. In fact, the situation last night was a #stampede and 31 people were injured and hospitalized in the process where 16 of them were classified as serious cases. Whether frontline police officers lied or the Police Public Relations Branch lied is irrelevant. Either way, the intention is to dilute the situation in order to escape responsibility. This act is shameful and the public cannot and should not accept this.

#11Aug | inside #KwaiFong MTR.

These locations have all experienced tear gas indoors. Some even received direct hits from tear gas canisters fired directly into the indoor area.

Clear warnings labels have been printed on the suppliers' product specifications, as well as on the tear gas canisters itself, reminding users not to release tear gas indoors. Repeated warnings from toxicologists and United Nations experts have all gone unheeded by the Hong Kong Police, who deployed these weapons against its intended purpose and protocol again and again, on at least seven separate occasions.

At least one man and two women were stopped by police. The press was surprised that riot police searched one of the women for a "suspected petrol bomb", she was dressed in white without any "gear". Arrested civilians were escorted to police cars. Later, the press claimed that the "petrol bomb" looked more like a spray can, not a glass bottle.

Police Mocks "Black Lives Matter" Movement and Harasses Reporter

20:24 | #YauMaTei
A busker was surrounded by a group of riot police and had his ID taken down by them. The same group of riot police officers then proceeded on disperse the bystanders at the scene. The busker was later escorted to safety by a journalist and left after the scene after getting searched by the police.

While all these were happening, a police officer suddenly started to harass reporters, repeatedly chanting in front of the camera “Black Lives Matter” and “I Can’t Breathe” in an attempt to mock the protests going on in the US. These slogans stemmed anti-racism campaigns in the US.

Shortly after, the same police officer queried reporters in Mandarin and commented that the Hong Kong Police Force was way better than the law enforcement in the United States.

Hong Kong Protest: Standing the Test of Time

1 year into the Movement, a city-wide anti-National Security Law exhibition was organized as a response to netizens' call to remember the long and arduous journey Hongkongers have walked through in the past year, defending and fighting to protect the scraps of freedom and democracy left in Hong Kong.

Exhibition panels were erected across Hong Kong to showcase the timeline of anti-ELAB movement, attracting passers-by to stop over and digest information on the exhibitions.

Defying “social distancing restriction”, citizens gathered briefly, chanted protest slogan and sang “Glory to Hong Kong” as an encouragement to the all participants.

A disproportionally amount of riot police were deployed, standing guard nearby the exhibition venues to disperse citizens. They dragged passer-bys into police cordon line for inquiry for no rhyme of reason. Among them were legislators and district councilors.

Hundreds of onlookers were also stopped and searched in Mong Kok and Causeway Bay; a common scare tactic employed by the force to deter people from joining future gatherings like this

Policemen agitated as they claim reporters obsturct their work

1624 | #YauMaTei
In Yau Ma Tei, verbal and physical clashes occured between police and journalists, as the police dispersed the reporters in agitation. The policeman shouted at the group of reporters right in front of them through a microphone, ”You’re obstructing police in their duty. Stand back immediately!” A female police officer questioned, in hostility, a reporter’s identity as she focused her camera on them, and ask why the reporter was at the scene.

Soon after, the blue warning flag was raised, and a policeman accused people in front of him, who were mainly journalists, as participating in illegal assembly. The reporters were demanded to disperse and “move to the opposite side of the road to continue filming”.
