Outbreaks of different types of animal related flu and epidemics in China

Editorial note: The rising outbreaks of different types of animal related flu and epidemics reflect the severity of environmental and ecological damages in China. The appetite for exotic wild life and exotic leather products, being used as a statement to flaunt one's fortune, is the driving factor of exotic and endangered animal poaching and the illegal wild life trade in PRC. Corrupted government officials at all levels are often part of these illegal activities, making it even harder to curb at root sources.

Poor animal captivity and animal trading environments means certain markets become readily become outbreak sites for infectious and deadly diseases. China has a lot to do to improve in terms of epidemics prevention and monitoring system.

Whether CCP's workers at all level truthfully disclose information to the public timely and transparently matters a lot in the prevention of animal-to-animal or animal-to-human transmission. Yet this is CCP’s darkest side. Under such a tyrannical and authoritarian government, workers from top to bottom report ‘good news’ to appease their superiors. CCP’s self-deception and mutual manipulative practices have become a curse, a never ending one cycling through a vicious cycles of deceit and mistakes.

CCP's secretive ways of handling things often impede and delay proper prevention measures and control outbreaks. Communities are locked in self-reinforcing vicious cycle of repeated contagious epidemics that cause high casualties.

Summary: Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs announced that a highly pathogen strain of H5N1 has been reported at Hainan Province. Local authority said they had put down all the poultry at the breakout chicken farm.

Daquangou Reservoir, Xinjiang recorded H5N6 bird flu, affecting swans. The reservoir belongs to the administrative region of the league 8 construction unit of the army. There were 190 swans in the reservoir. 19 of them were found to have the bird flu. Another 19 infected swans have already died. Authorities claimed that they have sanitised the surrounding environment while putting the remaining swans in close monitoring.

14 PRC scientists, including bird biologists, epidemics prevention and control experts, forestry and agricultural experts who examined and investigated different types of wildlife epidemics in China warned that the trend of wild life and animal related epidemics will be persistently high in 2020. They recommend the PRC government to strengthen measures to curb wild lives poaching and trading. Traders and buyers should face stiffer penalties.

Hainan patient concealed facts and spat, leading to two medical staff being infected

(7 Feb) According to a report by Chinese news website Nanhai News, a man from the city of Dongfang, Hainan province went to two hospitals to consult doctors between 24 and 28 January after showing symptons of the novel coronavirus. At the hospitals, he deliberately concealed the fact that he had close contact with his elder sister and brother-in-law, both coming from Wuhan, Hubei province. While he was receiving saline solution, he repeatedly spat on the floor as well as argued with hospital staff. Subsequently, two medics from Dongfang People's Hospital wete tested positive for the virus.

The man, whose surname is Zhang, boarded a train on 29 January for Haikou City to do a check up at its People's Hospital, and he was diagnosed with the coronavirus. He has causrd a great number of medics and people who had close contact with him to be placed under quarantine. The area where he lives has adopted a "close-off management" measure. Zhang's behaviour was criticised as severely disturbing Dongfang City's infection control measure and causing a threat to public safety.

At present, Zhang is under investigation by the public security bureau in Dongfang City for jeopardising public safety. He has also been sent to a specific hospital for quarantine and treatment.

In 2018, Xi Jinping already mentioned to replace Hong Kong with Hainan Island

(01 Jun)What’s wrong with Hainan’s Economy?
30 November 2018 at 10:45
President Xi Jinping visited Hainan Island at the beginning of the year and announced a series of measures to stimulate its economy, which included establishing the country’s largest free-trade zone in order to attract international investment.

Such an announcement triggered a lot of excitement. Apart from the zone, the Hainan Government also proposed a plan that would allow foreigners to enjoy uncensored internet access upon entering Hainan Province, but the suggestion later ceased to proceed.

Scholars involved in Hainan’s reformation plan told the press that Hainan Province will try the most advanced systems and practises in the world, including learning from Hong Kong and Dubai. In the future it will become China’s delegate and play an important role in boosting the world’s confidence.

Some people are expecting Hainan to become “Bali+Hong Kong” in the near future and are hoping that Hainan will later overtake Hong Kong.

Half a year has passed, has Hainan’s economy managed to make any progress? Statistics can explain everything.

The Bureau of Statistics of Hainan Province has just released Hainan’s economic data of October and it has shocked a lot of people.

The saleable area of houses sold from January to October in 2018 dropped 36% whereas sales revenue fell by 20% in comparison to the same period last year.

Another major source of economic growth, investment in fixed assets, ask dropped an astonishing 14.7%.

Transportation of freight also experienced an economic downturn with a decrease of 2.2%.

In October alone, Hainan Government’s fiscal revenue also showed a rare downward trend: the overall public budget revenue fell by 4.2% compared with the same period last year while the pre-expenditure fell by 3.1%.

As for the major consumer goods, vehicle production experienced a steep drop of 71.2%.

Many are concerned because if the trend persists, Hainan will soon replace the three provinces in Northeast of China and become the province with the slowest economic growth.

What exactly is wrong with Hainan’s economy?
