Pro-Demoracy Students Being Stalked

Students were shocked to find out they were being stalked and filmed after they called for an anti-national security law protest.

Ideologist, a students concern group, called for a rally on June 7 that had been objected by the police. As a result, Ideologist set up a booth near the Clock Tower in Tsim Sha Tsui and then in Mong Kok to raise public awareness on the adverse impacts of the law.

The students were first informed by a passerby in Tsim Sha Tsui that they were being filmed. When the students went to Mong Kok, the same person followed and filmed them again.

This is not an isolating event. Since June 6, pro-democracy lawmaker Jeremy Tam, district councillor Tiffany Yuen and activist Joshua Wong have revealed evidence that they were being followed by Mandarin-accented men, suggesting they were sent by China. They all condemned the intimidation as an infringement of freedom and a scare tactic in the wake of the national security law enforcement.

Hong Kong Students Deeply Worry About Their Future

Ideologist, a students concern group, called for a rally on June 7 but was objected by the police. The group then set up a booth near the Clock Tower in Tsim Sha Tsui and later in Mong Kok to raise public awareness on the adverse impacts of the law.

The group shared their concerns for the future and the loss of confidence in the government.

Not only that the Education Bureau is indifferent to students' well-being during the coronavirus outbreak, the authorities' enforcement of gathering ban, objection of protests, political persecution and the legislation of draconian laws (e.g. Anthem Law, Nation Security Law) have shown the worsening encroachment of rights and freedom in Hong Kong.

Volunteer #FirstAider who attended in #AlexChow’s case criticises the police for being dishonest

Carson Tsang Long-hin, spokesperson of the group #Ideologist, was the volunteer first aider who appeared at the Coroner’s Court as a citizen witness for Alex Chow’s case.

Tsang said he respected the jury’s decision that the cause of death was suspicious, and hoped Hong Kongers would allow time for the Chow’s family to reflect and digest the decision.

Tsang criticised the police for lying at the press conference following Chow’s death that they did not enter the parking lot when Chow fell. The police only admitted doing so when evidence that showed the opposite was found.

Tsang also questioned whether the police have done their best on the investigation as they claimed that no videotape showing Chow’s fall was found. The videotape was later found upon investigation by the Coroner and the Coroner officer.
