Ten years. What’s ten years? One-eighth of my life could be spent in jail watching my comrades get arrested, killed, raped or simply disappear. Yet there is simply nothing I can do about it.
I meet “peaceful, rational and non-violent” (PRN) Hongkongers every now and then, and they ask me, “Why do you have to stand so close to the frontlines? The police have lost their minds. They beat young people up so ruthlessly. It hurts to see it.” Usually, I will just chuckle and say “sorry”, because I simply do not know how to respond.

As this article was written, the former president of Hong Kong Confederation of Trade Unions (#HKCTU), Carol NG, was charged with “conspiracy to subvert state power” along with other 46 persons due to their participation in the 2020 HK pro-democracy primaries (“2020 Primaries”) and all were put in custody and remanded. 

When the 47 defendants reported to the Police in February 2021, they initially thought they could be put on bail and be “free” at least until April.

Shockingly the regime pushed and pushed the prosecution a lot earlier to 1 March 2021.

FRONTLINE Wins Peabody Award for ‘China Undercover’

China Undercover, FRONTLINE’s documentary investigating what has been described as the largest mass incarceration of an ethnic group since the Holocaust, was named a 2021 George Foster Peabody Award winner in the News category on Monday. The April 2020 documentary went inside China’s tightly controlled Xinjiang region to explore the Chinese Communist regime’s mass imprisonment of an estimated 2 million Uyghur and other Muslim minorities — and its use and testing of sophisticated surveillance technology on Muslim communities.
