At the time of writing, 3,015,300 cases of the coronavirus had been confirmed with 207,933 deaths. US, Spain, Italy, and France continue to be the worst affected countries by this pandemic. 888,547 have recovered.
Hong Kong has reported no new cases today, being the second consecutive day with no new cases.
Hong Kong inspects 52 pets and 3 of them has shown slight amount of coronavirus present.
Hong Kong experts believe the inspection measures for entrants can be relieved after 1st May holiday.
China has reported 3 new cases today.
Chinese experts believe the virus would co-exist with human in a long term.
Chinese ambassador threatens Australia to call for Chinese consumer boycott if Australia insists to call for independent inquiry for the origins of the coronavirus.
From Tuesday onward, any entrants to China through Shenzhen would be required to quarantine for 2 weeks.
Sources said China requested Germany to give positive feedbacks regarding the countries’ anti-epidemic work.

Hong Kong dissident bookseller Lam Wing Kee reopened Causeway Bay Bookstore in Taipei on April 25.

A year after he fled to Taiwan, Hong Kong bookseller Lam Wing Kee opened "Causeway Bay Bookstore" on April 25 in the capital, just days after being pelted red paint by three men who were arrested a day after the attack.
Lam credited Taiwanese government for granting him the assistance needed in reopening the bookstore that was originally run in Hong Kong but was forced to shut down after booksellers including Lam were abducted by China.
Aside from sending 300 police force to stand guard and offer protection, Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen sent a flower basket which wrote "Let justice flow on like a river and righteousness a never-failing stream".
[Editor's note: "To Freedom” is a line from the film “Detention” which portrays life in 1962-Taiwan during the martial law era. The film won several Golden Horse Film accolades in 2019.]

Altar for the Deceased in Pro-democracy Movement Demolished During Construction Work
Chow Tsz-lok, a 22-year-old university student, and Chan Yin-lam, a 15-year-old Hong Kong Design Institute student, passed away last year, both suspected to be victims of police violence.
An altar has been set up by citizens near Sheung Tak Estate carpark, but it was destroyed and demolished multiple times. The altar on the ground floor was blocked by partitions, whereas the one on the second floor, where Chow fell, was covered with white cloth. Workers covered the wall paintings with paint.
Link Asset Management Limited, who managed the carpark, emphasised that a renovation project was planned earlier last year, long before the anti-ELAB movement and the incident of Chow, thus this was not related to the government’s demolition of the altars.

A traffic officer who pleaded guilty to the possession of methamphetamine, viagra and smuggled cigarettes was sentenced to probation and referred to drug rehab. He, however, was then wanted after violating probation rules and skipping his court hearing. During which he allegedly attacked his parents after they refuse to give him money. The charge was lifted after his parents refused to testify against their son.
Ma Do-sun, the 47-year-old traffic police officer who is now being suspended, was granted bail but was now sentenced to rehab. He was escorted to the Eastern Magistrates' Courts today for his hearing. He was originally charged with assault for attacking an 81-year-old male and a 77-year-old female in an apartment at Aberdeen on Dec 2 2019.

On April 27, 2021 in Hong Kong, Fung Chi Tsuen, a village in Wang Chau located in New Territories, was cordoned off by the police. The staff from the Lands Department cut off the water and electricity supply by force. The authorities evicted a dozen residents after a standoff.
Ms Au Yeung, one of the remaining residents, asked the government to give them two more weeks to pack, but the Lands Department refused.
Ms Au Yeung broke into tears, "I am miserable enough. You are cornering me. I have no dignity left." She lamented that her life is being taken away.
Ms Au Yeung told the authorities, "it is my private land." However, the staff ignored her and said, "it's time for me to work."

The said article details the experiment being undertaken by 10 students at a vocational training school in Zhengzhou, China.
10 experts and parents were on hand to observe and witness the experiment, including the author and the school's principal Ge Ping, as well as the chief physician of a provincial teaching hospital.
In response to press inquiries, Ge asserted that the experiment was carried out by herself, and all details described in the article are true.
She further claimed that she had trained all her students into developing supernatural powers; not only could they restore life to a cooked egg, "they could take any leaf, tear it apart, then heal it up again." The students were also said to be able to "take pictures with their phones when they have been powered off."

The Hong Kong authorities had been heavily promoting national security through the city's youth uniformed groups. A legislative councilor posed a written question, requesting that the government require all students to join at least one uniformed group.
The Home Affairs Bureau replied that these groups are only an extracurricular activity, and schools generally allow students to choose whether to join.
The Bureau also reported the membership numbers of 11 youth uniformed groups that receive sponsorship from the government. 8 of these groups had seen their numbers fall in the past four years.
The Scouts Association of Hong Kong - whose Chief Scout is Chief Executive Carrie Lam - saw the largest drop of 4941 members, with 2936 in the past year alone. The Hong Kong Girl Guides Association, whose president is Regina Leung, the wife of former CE Leung Chun-Ying, also lost 2313 members.
Andrew Lam Siu-lo, the legislator who posed the question, belongs to the Election Committee constituency, which was newly created under the 2021 electoral changes imposed by Beijing in order to ensure only "patriots" govern Hong Kong.

Pro-Beijing Legislator Proposes Mandatory Uniformed Groups Membership for HK Youths
The Hong Kong authorities had been heavily promoting national security through the city's youth uniformed groups. A legislative councilor posed a written question, requesting that the government require all students to join at least one uniformed group.
The Home Affairs Bureau replied that these groups are only an extracurricular activity, and schools generally allow students to choose whether to join.
The Bureau also reported the membership numbers of 11 youth uniformed groups that receive sponsorship from the government. 8 of these groups had seen their numbers fall in the past four years.
The Scouts Association of Hong Kong - whose Chief Scout is Chief Executive Carrie Lam - saw the largest drop of 4941 members, with 2936 in the past year alone. The Hong Kong Girl Guides Association, whose president is Regina Leung, the wife of former CE Leung Chun-Ying, also lost 2313 members.
Andrew Lam Siu-lo, the legislator who posed the question, belongs to the Election Committee constituency, which was newly created under the 2021 electoral changes imposed by Beijing in order to ensure only "patriots" govern Hong Kong.
