The restructuring of the education system is a whole year’s worth of murderous script

This is an important piece. Please read and share.

Looking at the news chronology, you’ll find that the removal of the controversial history exam question is just an appetizer. What the government wants to do is to wipe out this generation.

12 Jun 2019 - Secondary school teacher Mr. Yeung was shot in Admiralty. Pro-Beijing newspapers and camps condemned him as a “rioter-teacher”.

Jul 2019 – Pro-Beijing media bombarded the private remarks of the assistant principal of the HKCCCU Logos Academy, claiming that “yellow teachers are poisoning kids".

Aug 2019 onwards – Teachers are targeted and encouraged to blow the whistle on their coworkers. Pro-Beijing media began to attack Liberal Studies in the Hong Kong Senior Secondary Curriculum.

//pro-Beijing media emphasized on the "severe infiltration of yellow teachers", and that the education system must be restructured.

//The freedom of thought of this generation’s students cannot be removed. The only way to suppress them with weapons, beat them up and arrest them, and the cycle continues.

//The government gave up on this generation. Overthrow the system, and the next generation could be brainwashed from the beginning.

//Those who soberly fight back are bound to be driven to extinction. In this battle, there will be no ceasefire until every last Yellow Ribbon either surrendered or died.

Government Requires at least 90 hours of training for all new teachers on "professional identity"

Starting from the next school term, all new teachers are required to attend at least 90 hours of training within the first 3 years of teaching, per the Education Bureau.

Core training courses will be provided to new teachers, and recources will be offered to current teachers by the Bureau in order for them to advance in their career.

Among the 90 hours of training, 30 hours of core training, provided by the Bureau, will cover "professional identity and studies". Its purpose is to help the teachers to self-reflect on their professional role, and to have a better understanding of local policies, national policies, and international education.

New teachers will also be required to complete another 60 hours of training on elective courses. For current teachers, completion of 30 hours of training related to "teachers' professional roles, values and conduct", and "local, national and international education policies" will be required every 3 years. Completion of 90-130 of training on similar topics will be required before teachers can progress in their career.

[Retaliatory Education] Primary school principal suspected of coercing teacher into forging documents, teacher forced into early resignation after arrest

(01 Aug) One year ago, people feared that "reprisals at the right moment" on the one hand and, on the other, took to the streets to strike and protest despite their trepidation towards the authorities. A year later, the atmosphere of protest in society dampened. White terror silently followed after the passing of the Hong Kong national security law. "Reprisals at the right moment" quietly began.

The education profession was among the first to be affected. Working under great political pressure, teachers kept their guard up even after school hours. A single "sensitive" phrase, liking an online post that criticises the government or participating only once in a legal protest may be enough to cost them their jobs.

InMedia HK interviewed many teachers who received complaints, were suppressed by the school or were even dismissed because of their political stances. Neither secondary school liberal studies teachers, teaching assistants nor university professors can avoid this quandary. Under the national security law, what recourse do they have?

//After his arrest, the school's senior management coerced him into signing a "voluntary resignation letter", feigning that he had left before his arrest.

//"I don't expect anyone to hire me. Even though I'm still registered, it's over."

//he was only standing up for justice.

One More Teacher Disqualified by Education Bureau

The Education Bureau in Hong Kong disqualified one more teacher on November 12, 2020.

The Bureau announced that it issued a letter to a primary school teacher for "making serious mistakes" in teaching, "lacking competence" as a teacher and "not preparing for class", suggesting that teacher was not qualified, and thus the teacher's license was removed according to Education Ordinance.

According to various news sources, it was a General Studies primary school teacher from Ho Lap Primary School.

In April 2020, the said teacher introduced the opium war in a primary 2 General Studies class, and explained that UK started the Opium War to destroy opium in China.

The same teacher was accused of giving "wrong explaination" on the motive for ancient Chinese to invent paper as "substituting turtle shell and animals' bones in order to prevent the extinction of animals".

The Bureau stressed that the content "is obviously wrong and ridiculous".

Nevertheless, what the teacher had said actually came from the Education TV program (#ETV) produced by the Bureau itself.

Even if it is wrong, the teacher should not be banned for life.

Deregistered
teachers’ appeal case to be reviewed by Pro-Beijing members of Appeal Boards Panel appointed by Carrie Lam

In 2020, two teachers in Hong Kong, one at Alliance Primary School in Kowloon Tong and one at Ho Lap Primary School, were deregistered by the Education Bureau for "promoting Hong Kong Independence" and "distorting historical facts" respectively.

With the help of the Teachers’ Union, their cases are in dispute at the moment, which were now reviewed by the Appeal Boards Panel.

The 8 members of the Panel were recently appointed by Chief Executive Carrie Lam and included a city committee of Tianjin in China, a school principal who fired a teacher that was arrested during the Anti-ELAB movement, and others who strongly supported the National Security Law, which indicated the pro-Beijing stance of the Panel.
