However, they arrived outside the control room and saw the presence of security personnel. After the security guard called for reinforcements, a large number of riot police officers arrived. Some officers even had the key to the security control room of the shopping mall, and several district councilors were brought into the control room to be searched.

In similar "Sing with You" and "Shop with You" activities in past few weeks, riot police have handed out tens of penalty tickets to civilians onsiye, arbitrarily charging them for violating the gathering ban.

It has been reported that a surprising number of only two tickets were issued for tonight's activity.

Riot Police Asks Civilians Not To Gather At Mall

1955 | #DiamondHill

Riot police set up cordon lines on upper floors, keeping people from the atrium's ledge. They gave no explanation when they were asked about why people were prohibited from entering that part of the mall.

Some officers were seen holding a clipboard with a thick stack of summon tickets, presumably for the $2000 anti-gathering fines.

Editor's Note: Are the riot police officers demanding for a “one-man shopping” regulation in malls now?

Police Officers Without Masks Scold Press for 'Lack of Anti-epidemic Awareness'

Civilians initiated "Sing with You" activities today in several districts across Hong Kong. They chanted protest slogans and sang songs.

It was reported that the officers from the police force were not wearing masks when they entered a mall in Tsuen Wan earlier today.

In spite of this, they scolded members of the press at the scene, accusing them of violating the social distancing rule and lacking awareness of the epidemic. Droplets were seen coming out of the police officers' mouth as they reprimanded the public while not wearing a mask.

Citizens, mainly shoppers, heckled at the police's action and the atmosphere was tensed. Police raised the blue warning flag inside the mall.

According to sources, at least 8 residents have been arrested. They were sent to Tseung Kwan O Police Station with their hands tied up.
