Official āconfession videoā of Simon Cheng off synced
(21 Nov)Chinese state-run newspaper Peopleās Daily has released video clips of Mr. Simon Cheng who seemingly entered a massage parlour thrice. Peopleās Daily has also shown Chengās confession video, with him claiming to feel regretful and guilty. But the video was noticed to have mismatching mouth movements compared with the words said.
Peopleās Daily has uploaded an approximately two-minute-long video clip to Weibo (Chinese-based microblog platform). The first part consisted of CCTV clips showing Simon entering a clubhouse thrice between July and August. It has only shown that he entered the room, without any evidence that sexual services were provided at the venue. In the clip, we could even see that there were families going to the club together, with children seen in the lobby.
It was followed by the āconfessionā of Simon Cheng, with him explaining that he hadnāt informed his family because he felt losing his face, āso embarrassed, so guilty, because people who know me would not expect me to do this, and I have no face to see my girlfriend and my family. It is such a shameful and self-reproaching thing.ā He also said he felt so guilty that he was determined to correct himself and not to commit the same crime again.

Some equally ardent netizens quickly confirmed that the place was a massage parlor at Luohu District (An area near the boundary between Mainland China and Hong Kong), Shenzhen called Li Shui Yun Jian (éŗę°“é²é). Dodo Cat, after confirming that the parlor was the one featured in the CCTV video, was relieved, āNo wonder I couldnāt recognize it! This isnāt even a place that offers sexual services.ā
