Instead of respecting press freedom and letting reporters into the metro station to cover police operation, police officers chose to “report” the operation in their own words through microphones, repeatedly emphasizing that it is just “another routine operation”.

Peeping through officers standing at the entrance of metro station, it was seen that the stop-and-search operation was targeting young, black-clad protesters.

Reporter: Today marks one year from the first major demonstration took place last June that kicked off the anti-ELAB movement. How do you feel about seeing citizens coming out voluntarily tonight joining an “illegal assembly”?

Ted: I am deeply touched. HongKongers are not afraid of tyranny rule and the tightened grip. Under the current political situation, it is almost impossible to organize a lawful assembly. Despite that, there were still so many people take their grievance to the street, occupying many areas in Central, showing that citizens are not giving up. I believe the fight for freedom will go on.

Reporter: How about police-and-citizen clashes? Do you anticipate this to continue?

Ted: Yes, it will. So long as the government continues their iron-handed rule, the clashes and brutality will never end.

Journalists Forced Out from Back Alley

An unarmed young man was stopped and frisked in a back alley. While some journalists advanced to take pictures, 30 over officers suddenly entered and lined up in front of the young man, rudely ordering all journalists to leave the back alley.

Sudden Attack on Journalists and Citizens

Outside Des Voeux Rd, 40-50 police officers suddenly surrounded a group of reporters and continuously fired 20 rounds of pepper balls. They then instantly followed up spraying pepper spray nonstop. One reporter had their whole face covered with the spray and fell onto the ground, had to be taken care of by the medic. The police had no qualms of firing pepper balls at point blank and gave zero warnings.
