Ventus Lau: ”As Long as We Keep Improving Ourselves and Never Give Up, We Could Ultimately Get What We Want”

1543 | Edinburgh Place, #Central
Ventus Lau, Convenor of the Community Network Union, spoke at the rally. He thanked the organisers for organizing the event and said that he was one of the 6000 people arrested.

He recalled three moments that had touched him in the past: the first event was when the demonstrators wrote their last words and handed then to him when he was inside LegCo on #1July; the second event was when he was being detained inside the Sun Uk Ling Holding Centre, when arrestees realized that the movement was not about an individual anymore as they thought about their families, lovers, and friends, causing them to cry together; the third event was a photo that reminded him of when he was inside PolyU seeing that civilians regardless of age, race and occupation all helped and fought against the Hong Kong Police with the students.
