After police had subdued and arrested three suspects, around 50-60 riot police arrive as reinforcements. It is not clear why there was reinforcements for only 3 arrestees; their public relations officers had not offered explanations either.

Officers have been rather rude toward reporters and first aiders at the scene, accusing those without high-visibility vests to be protesters masquerading as reporters; and that since they were not reporters, they had no business to be here.

"We took one here, one there," seemingly to make sure they reach a quota of arrests.

Hui maintained his calm, and merely asked them not to yell at the civilians. However, the officers continuously heckled at Hui as he spoke.

After all the civilians have moved to the sidewalk, they started pushing reporters off the road, accusing them of having a bad attitude.
