Central Political and Legal Affairs Commission of the Communist Party of China declare those who deliberately delay or conceal reports on pneumonia epidemic as ā€œeternal sinnersā€

[NOW News] The Central Political and Legal Affairs Commission (CPLAC) proclaimed online that the pneumonia epidemic was spreading aggressively. If anyone were to delay or conceal reports about it, they would be declared ā€œeternal sinnersā€.

In the online article, CPLAC stated that many people associated the Wuhan pneumonia with SARS in 2003. At the time, information was not made publicly available. There were many cases of delayed reporting and cover-ups, which allowed the SARS epidemic to spread. This damaged social stability and trust in the government. The responsible approach was to report candidly.

Xi Jinping, the General Secretary of CCP, claimed in the article that the lives and health of citizens were of utmost importance, that various government branches have taken action and that epidemic prevention measures were being implemented.

CPLAC warned that if a politician prioritised their reputation over the interests of the people, they would be an eternal sinner in the eyes of CCP and the people. The shame of indulging in personal interests and concealing the epidemic would be recorded in history forever.

Undeterred by Chinaā€™s threat, ā€œFree Hong Kongā€ opened as planned in Ukraine

(12-Jan) An organisation held an exhibition called ā€œFree Hong Kongā€ at Ukraineā€™s capital #Kiev. Before the start of the exhibition, the Chinese Embassy put pressure on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine to cancel the event. Organisers were undeterred and went ahead with the exhibition as planned. However, the Hongkongers who helped plan the event did not show up on site due to safety concerns. Some of the exhibits were slightly adjusted.

A team called ā€œFree Hong Kong Exhibition,ā€ formed by a group of oversea Hongkongers, makes a tour of exhibits around the world to explain the current situation in Hong Kong. In recent days, they were pressured by China before the start of the exhibit at Ukraineā€™s capital Kiev.

The team published the related letter on Facebook yesterday (11-Jan), and claimed that they received recently a call from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and a letter from the local embassy of Peopleā€™s Republic of China, warning them to cancel the exhibit. In the letter, the Chinese Embassy requested the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to cancel the ā€œillegal, unconstitutionalā€ activity.

When the members were interviewed by Apple Daily , they said they had already consulted the opinions of local attorneys, and said the related agencies had no right to interfere, and the exhibit was totally legal. They explained further that the event did not promote violence, but rather stimulated discussions. They emphasised that they would not be threatened, and re-iterated their support of freedom of expression. Thus, they decided to open the exhibit as scheduled.

Even so, the organisers were concerned that the venue was being pressured. The exhibits were adjusted and removed of sensitive materials. Their members explained when asked by Ming Pao that the exhibition is centred around chronological axis of the Anti-Extradition Movement, supplemented by related international video footage and movement-related photos of the Anti-Extradition Movement.

Since September last year, the ā€œFree Hong Kong Exhibitionā€ team held 3 self-funded exhibitions in Germany, which all went smoothly without any obstacle. The exhibition in Ukraine was originally planned for opening yesterday for 7 consecutive days at Kurenivka Palace of #Kiev. As early as end of December last year when the team sent exhibits to Ukraine, some of the parcels were damaged and returned.

The Stand News asked their team about the opening yesterday. The team quoted local volunteers that the opening went smoothly, and ā€œno one made trouble.ā€ But not too many people attended-- only about 70 to 80 people. They all knew the exhibition was being oppressed. Also, some journalists and human rights advocacy groups arrived to learn more.

Zhuhai Emergency Management Bureau announced the explosion in the Changlian Petrochemical Plant in Gaolangang

The local authority claimed no one was killed or hurt in the accident. An investigation has been launched. Bureau stressed the explosion had not caused changes in any environmental readings.

Videos circulating on social media showed the factory was swallowed by a huge fire as plumes of black smoke billowing into the air and workers escaping from the fire-ravaged plant.

Industrial accidents are common in China, where safety regulations are often poorly enforced. Last year, the explosions of a chemical plant in Eastern Jiangsu province in March and a gas plant in central China in July killed 78 people and 15 people respectively.

Among the worst accidents in China, there was a massive explosion in 2015 at a chemical warehouse in Tianjin port that killed 173 people, most of them were firefighters and police officers. That blast was blamed on illegal construction and unsafe storage of volatile materials.

(26 Jan) Medical staff in Wuhan complained about the poor quality of protective gear. The staff in the video said the new gears they just received from Wuhan Health Commission were different from those they've been using (from the headquarter). They were different in packaging, weight and quality. The new gown tears apart before they go to work and the masks are fake.

World-class selfishness by Chip Tsao

(26 Jan) The year of the pig dramatically came to a close with an Ace in the hole, and it had to be the Ace of Spades. A deadly pneumonia virus originating from Wuhan spread across the country and around the world.

At first, the people from Wuhan and mainland Chinese netizens loudly accused Hong Kong people of being provocative and fault-finding, using the epidemic as an excuse to promote Hong Kong independence. A few days later, the same netizens were in tears mourning and seeking help. The latest cry came from a woman in Wuhan, hanging a placard on her chest, grieving President Xi's absence from Wuhan and "the central government's abandonment."

The central government did not abandon you all; in fact, it is cheering for the ten million Wuhan people from a very safe distance. The mainlanders have gone too far this time: they recalled how former President Hu Jintao visited affect areas during the SARS saga and questioned Xi's absence. No means no, period. No explanation needed. Just because Hu did it does not mean Xi has to too. Just as the former wanted Hu Chunhua to succeed him, the latter needed not acquiesce. The mainlanders are very cunning to use the former President to challenge the current one.

Danish authorities have defended the erection of a statue outside the parliament in Copenhagen depicting Hong Kong protesters, despite complaints from Chinese officials

Officials from the Chinese Embassy in Denmark had attempted to pressure authorities into removing the statue, warning that it would damage relations between the two countries, offend Chinese tourists and pose a security risk as a ā€œpotential site of conflict.ā€

They even warned ā€œthe pace of the Chinese nationā€™s great rejuvenation is unstoppable. The conspiracy of a few people and anti-China organisation in Denmark is doomed to fail, " after the Copenhagen authorities said the artwork complied with health and safety regulations.

Artist Jens GalschiĆøt, Danish parliament member and an US Ambassador to Denmark said it was unprecedented and absurd to call for the removal of political artwork.

Fearless HuBei-Woman Roared: Support HK & Taiwan to Get Rid of Community Party PRC since Wuhan Virus is a plan!

(16-Feb) Under the high-pressure ruling by PRC Community Party (ā€œthe Partyā€), i.e. comprehensive surveillance and injustice legal system, most of the PRC citizens dared not to express their dissatisfaction. The Party puts human life as the lowest priority to maintain social stability even when the epidemic is out of control. It triggered the emotional breakdown of a woman from Hubei, where the virus outbreak is the most serious, roared with tears: ā€œI fully support theindependence of Hong Kong, Taiwan & Tibet, to get rid of the devil hands from the Party. The CCP is just a corruption regime and (China is) a devil society!ā€ Video of which was widely shared on Twitter.

Numerous criticisms for the source of Wuhan virus, some said itā€™s the virus leaked by National laboratory, some said the PRC citizens ate wild animals. The woman from Hubei pointed out: ā€œthe virus comes from Wuhan.. is a planned stratagem. All caused by power struggling within the Party, sacrificing the citizens, my family and parents are dying at home! No one care about our lives, the citizen lives. We cant buy drugs nor find a bed at the hospital even when we pay for that.

She continued to poke PRC citizen dare not to allege the Party: ā€œno one can speak freely, nobody. If there is one brave enough to tell the truth, he/she will be arrested to Police Station. Being interrogated, detained and eventually sentenced to imprisonment. The Party means the laws, not the laws itself to protect peopleā€™s right. The Party can sentence a person for any period they want, and lawyers have no function in PRC. A righteous lawyer will be arrested, he cannot speak the truth (he is unable to speak), under such devil regime, we cannot speak the truth,ā€

The woman from Hubei sounds tragic, facing the camera: ā€œI have to tell you all, sacrifices are inevitable in a revolution, one life? or two?... I want to, and I have to stand out. To speak for the truth, and scarifice for my family, and the freedom in the rest of my life.ā€ She frankly expressed that she well-understood coming consequence from her speech: ā€œI voiced out, I know itā€™s a risky move, Iā€™m in danger now. But I really collapsed, I cannot accept this situation: full house in hospitals, but no one has a bed, nor medicine, all news are fake on CCTV. ALL! I can hear the yelling and roaring from all patients, I have to voice out for myself, for Wuhan citizen and for all Chinese.ā€
